Chorley FC 0-3 Accrington Stanley: Stanley Shine in Commanding Friendly Victory

July 25, 2026 – Victory Park – Accrington Stanley put on a dominant display to beat National League North side Chorley FC 3-0 in a pre-season friendly. The League Two visitors were a class above, scoring three well-taken goals and rarely allowing Chorley a sniff of goal.

Stanley opened the scoring in the 22nd minute when Shaun Whalley curled a free-kick over the wall and into the net. They doubled their lead just before the half-hour mark through Korede Adedoyin, who fired home from inside the box after a neat passing move. The away side controlled the tempo, and the result was sealed in the 78th minute when substitute Tommy Leigh headed in from a corner.

Chorley battled hard but were outclassed by a more polished Accrington side. The hosts rarely threatened and will use this fixture to assess fitness levels ahead of their league campaign.

Chorley FC: A tough test against a League Two opponent. Manager Andy Preece will value the run-out but will want to see more attacking threat in future friendlies.
