Caerau Ely romped to a dominant 5-1 victory over local rivals Croesceiliog in a pre-season friendly played at Cwrt-yr-Ala on Saturday evening. The scoreline flattered the hosts slightly, but their clinical finishing and high-energy pressing proved too much for a Croesceiliog side that battled hard throughout.

Fast Start for Caerau Ely

Caerau Ely wasted no time in asserting themselves. Inside the opening ten minutes, they had already carved open the Croesceiliog defence twice. First, striker Rhys Morgan latched onto a through ball and poked past the advancing keeper. Minutes later, winger Jordan Harris doubled the lead with a stunning curling effort from the edge of the box.

Croesceiliog had a goal disallowed for offside late on, but the final score already reflected Caerau Ely's superiority.

Despite being a pre-season friendly, the match was played with genuine intensity. Both sides used the fixture to test fitness and tactical shape ahead of their respective league campaigns.
