Borac Banja Luka 1-1 Vojvodina Novi Sad — honours finished even in an entertaining international club friendly at the Gradski Stadion in Banja Luka, with the two regional rivals settling for a draw after a competitive ninety minutes that offered both coaches plenty of useful information ahead of their respective league campaigns resuming.

Match Overview

Friendlies between clubs of this stature are rarely friendlies in spirit, and this one followed the script. Borac Banja Luka, backed by a vocal home crowd, started brightly and pressed high, while Vojvodina Novi Sad looked to build patiently from the back and spring into the space behind the full-backs. The tempo was sharp from the first whistle, with crunching tackles in midfield setting the tone for a physical, fast-paced contest.

The home side took the lead midway through the first half, and Vojvodina responded after the break with a well-worked equaliser. From there, both benches emptied, and the closing stages became a genuine audition for squad players hoping to force their way into starting line-ups.

Key Moments

• 22nd minute: Borac Banja Luka open the scoring — a driving run from midfield ends with a composed finish into the bottom corner.
• 39th minute: Vojvodina's best chance of the first half, a glancing header that flashes just wide.
• 58th minute: The equaliser. Vojvodina work a short-corner routine and the ball is swept home from the edge of the area.
• 74th minute: Borac hit the post after a swift counter-attack.
• 85th minute: A superb double save from the Vojvodina goalkeeper keeps the scores level.

Tactical Story

Borac's approach was built on intensity: a high defensive line, aggressive pressing in the middle third, and quick transitions whenever possession was won. It worked well in the first half, pinning Vojvodina back and forcing a number of hurried clearances. The equaliser, though, exposed the risk — Vojvodina's slick short-corner move drew defenders out of position and created the space for a clean strike.

Vojvodina grew into the game the longer it went on, finding joy by switching play from flank to flank and isolating Borac's full-backs in one-on-one situations. Their midfield rotation after the interval gave them far more control, and only some last-ditch defending prevented a second goal. As a friendly, the main takeaway was fitness and sharpness; both sides got exactly the kind of test they wanted against quality opposition.

Standout Performers

Borac's goalscorer was the standout attacking player on the pitch, linking play intelligently and carrying a real threat on the counter. Their goalkeeper also impressed with a pair of strong saves in the second half. For Vojvodina, the central midfielder who drove the comeback was excellent — composed on the ball, tireless off it, and the architect of the equalising goal. The substitute goalkeeper's late double save preserved the draw and was arguably the moment of the match.

What It Means

With no points at stake, the result matters less than the performance, but both clubs will take encouragement. Borac Banja Luka showed they can impose themselves on strong opposition at home, while Vojvodina Novi Sad demonstrated the resilience and quality in possession that has become their trademark. The head-to-head record between these two remains finely balanced, and if this friendly is anything to go by, a competitive meeting between them would be well worth watching.

Both squads now return to domestic duties with a useful 90 minutes in the legs and a clearer picture of their options for the weeks ahead.
