How the Game Unfolded

Mizoram Police FC began brightly and pressed high, forcing Kanan Veng into several early clearances. Their reward came when Lalhlimpuia found space between the centre-backs and slotted a low finish past the goalkeeper. The goal lifted the home side, and for a period they looked likely to add a second. Kanan Veng, however, weathered the storm and gradually grew into the match.

The equaliser arrived before half-time. Vanlalhriata collected the ball on the edge of the box, shifted onto his stronger foot, and curled a shot into the far corner. That goal changed the momentum. Mizoram Police FC lost some of their early rhythm, while Kanan Veng began to find gaps behind the full-backs.

In the second half, both teams had spells on top. Mizoram Police FC pushed bodies forward and delivered a series of crosses, but Kanan Veng’s goalkeeper made two important saves. The winner came late in the game when Lalbiakdika reacted quickest to a loose ball in the penalty area and stabbed it home. Mizoram Police FC tried to respond in the closing minutes, but Kanan Veng defended their box with composure.

Key Moments

The decisive moment was Lalbiakdika’s late goal. Mizoram Police FC had committed extra players forward, and when the clearance was not fully dealt with, Kanan Veng pounced. The home side appealed for a foul in the build-up, but the referee waved play on, and the finish was clinical.

Tactical Story

Mizoram Police FC set up in a 4-3-3 and looked to dominate midfield through quick combinations. Their full-backs pushed high, which created width but also left space behind for Kanan Veng’s counter-attacks. Kanan Veng defended in a compact 4-4-2 and were happy to let the Police have the ball in less dangerous areas. When they won possession, they moved it forward quickly, targeting the channels.

The tactical battle was about patience versus penetration. Mizoram Police FC had more of the ball, but Kanan Veng created the better chances. The away side’s willingness to soak up pressure and strike on the break proved to be the winning formula.

Standout Players

Vanlalhriata was Kanan Veng’s most influential attacker, combining excellent close control with a fine equalising goal. Lalbiakdika’s late winner capped a tireless performance. For Mizoram Police FC, Lalhlimpuia was sharp in the first half and took his goal well, while the midfield duo worked hard to recycle possession. Defensive errors, however, cost them dear.
