Mizoram Police FC improved before half-time and threatened from set pieces, but Dinthar’s goalkeeper dealt comfortably with two headers. The visitors continued to grow into the game after the restart, and their persistence paid off in the 58th minute when Vanlalruata latched onto a through ball and slotted past the advancing goalkeeper.

The equaliser changed the mood of the contest. Mizoram Police FC briefly looked the more likely side to score next, but Dinthar FC regained composure and pushed forward again. The winning goal arrived in the 84th minute when Laldinpuia rose highest to meet a corner and powered a header into the net.

Tactical Story

Dinthar FC set up with an aggressive pressing structure, looking to win the ball high and attack quickly through the channels. Their full-backs pushed forward to support the wide players, creating the overload that led to the opening goal. The approach left some space behind, which Mizoram Police FC exploited more effectively in the second half.

Mizoram Police FC’s response was built on a more direct style. They moved the ball forward quickly after regaining possession and used the pace of their forwards to test Dinthar’s back line. For a spell after the equaliser, they looked capable of taking the lead, but Dinthar FC’s decision to push their midfield higher in the closing stages helped them pin the visitors back and earn the decisive corner.

Standout Performers

Lalrinsanga’s opening goal and overall work rate made him a constant problem for the Mizoram Police FC defence, while Laldinpuia’s late header underlined his importance in both boxes. In midfield, Dinthar’s captain controlled the tempo and helped his side recover after the equaliser.

For Mizoram Police FC, Vanlalruata was the standout attacking threat, taking his goal well and stretching the Dinthar defence with his movement. Their goalkeeper also made several important saves, including a strong stop early in the second half, to keep the visitors in the match until the closing minutes.

Table Impact

The three points strengthen Dinthar FC’s position in the Indian Mizoram Premier League standings and give the club momentum heading into its next fixture. The win also highlights Dinthar’s ability to respond under pressure after conceding an equaliser at home.

Mizoram Police FC, meanwhile, will take encouragement from the second-half response but will be frustrated to concede from a set piece so late in the game. In a league where small margins often decide the table, the result is a reminder of how important concentration remains until the final whistle.
