Rajasthan United FC 2-0 Dalhousie AC — Rajasthan United FC produced a disciplined and clinical display to beat Dalhousie AC 2-0 in the Indian Calcutta Football League on 6 October 2026. A first-half header and a second-half penalty settled a contest that Dalhousie largely controlled in possession but never truly managed to break open. The win strengthens Rajasthan’s position in the CFL standings, while Dalhousie are left to regroup after a frustrating evening in Kolkata.

Match Overview

From the opening whistle, Dalhousie AC looked to impose themselves with quick passes in midfield. Rajasthan United FC, however, were happy to absorb pressure and strike on the break. The game’s first clear chance fell to Dalhousie in the 14th minute, but a low drive from outside the box was held by Rajasthan goalkeeper Vikram Singh. Rajasthan grew into the contest and took the lead in the 38th minute when Arjun Rawat met Nikhil Barla’s corner with a powerful header. The second half followed a similar pattern: Dalhousie saw more of the ball, but Rajasthan looked the more dangerous team whenever they won possession. The decisive moment arrived in the 73rd minute when Rawat was brought down inside the area and Barla converted the resulting penalty. Dalhousie pushed late, but Rajasthan’s back line held firm for a clean sheet.

Key Moments

• 14th minute: Dalhousie’s first warning shot — a dipping effort from midfield forces Vikram Singh into a smart save.
• 38th minute: Rajasthan United FC take the lead. Nikhil Barla’s corner is met by Arjun Rawat, whose header finds the bottom corner.
• 58th minute: Dalhousie’s best chance of the match, but Sourav Pal’s shot from inside the box is blocked by a last-ditch challenge.
• 73rd minute: Rajasthan win a penalty after Arjun Rawat is fouled. Nikhil Barla steps up and sends the goalkeeper the wrong way.
• 88th minute: Dalhousie throw bodies forward, but Rajasthan clear a dangerous free-kick to preserve the 2-0 scoreline.

Tactical Story

Rajasthan United FC set up in a compact 4-2-3-1, with the front four pressing selectively and the double pivot screening the space in front of the defence. That shape forced Dalhousie AC into wide areas, where crosses were easier to defend. Dalhousie’s 4-3-3 gave them control of possession for long spells, but they struggled to break through the central block. Rajasthan’s transitions were the difference: both goals came from moments when Dalhousie committed players forward. The penalty was the clearest example — a quick turnover, a driving run from Rawat, and a foul that turned the match decisively in Rajasthan’s favour.

Standout Players

Arjun Rawat was the focal point of Rajasthan’s attack, winning the corner that led to the opener, scoring the header, and drawing the penalty. Nikhil Barla delivered the assist and converted the spot-kick with composure. At the back, goalkeeper Vikram Singh recorded a clean sheet and made a crucial first-half save. For Dalhousie, Sourav Pal was their most persistent threat, while captain Debjit Ghosh tried to drive the team forward from midfield.

Calcutta Football League Table Impact

The three points lift Rajasthan United FC in the Indian Calcutta Football League standings and reinforce their reputation as one of the division’s most organised sides. For Dalhousie AC, the defeat is a setback in their push for consistency, though the performance showed enough attacking intent to suggest better results are ahead. In the head-to-head record, Rajasthan now hold the recent edge, having kept a clean sheet in this meeting. The result also adds to Rawat’s growing tally in the race for the league’s top scorers, while Barla’s all-round contribution underlines his importance to the team.
