Milan Bithee Edge Anushilani in Narrow Calcutta Football League Win

Milan Bithee secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Anushilani in the Indian Calcutta Football League on October 6, 2026, with a single second-half goal proving enough to separate two stubborn sides at 17:00 local time. The result gives Milan Bithee three valuable points in the CFL standings and extends their recent run of resilient home form, while Anushilani are left to rue a night of promising build-up play without a finishing touch.

Played in the distinctive rhythm of Calcutta football, the match was decided by fine margins rather than a flood of chances. Milan Bithee defended their lead with maturity in the closing stages, and Anushilani could not find the equaliser despite pushing more players forward after the break.

Match Overview

Milan Bithee began with a compact shape, looking to absorb early pressure and spring forward through the wide areas. Anushilani saw more of the ball in the opening half-hour, but their possession rarely translated into clear sights of goal. The first half ended goalless, with both goalkeepers called into action only sporadically.

The decisive moment arrived in the 68th minute. Milan Bithee won the ball in midfield, moved it quickly to the right, and a low cross was converted from close range by striker Sujit Mondal. The goal lifted the home side and forced Anushilani into a more urgent approach.

Key Moments

• 68th minute: Sujit Mondal scores the only goal of the game for Milan Bithee after a swift attacking move.
• 74th minute: Anushilani force a sharp save from the Milan Bithee goalkeeper with a dipping effort from outside the box.
• 83rd minute: Milan Bithee almost double their lead on the counter, but the final shot flashes wide of the far post.
• 90+2 minutes: Anushilani send a late free-kick into the penalty area, but the defence clears to seal the win.

Tactical Story

Milan Bithee’s success was built on defensive discipline. Their midfield screened the back four effectively, forcing Anushilani to play sideways rather than through the central corridor. When Anushilani did find space out wide, Milan Bithee responded with numbers behind the ball and looked to counter at speed.

Anushilani’s manager made attacking changes in the second half, switching to a more direct approach and pushing full-backs higher. The plan created half-chances, but Milan Bithee’s centre-backs dealt well with crosses and second balls. In the end, the home side’s game management proved the difference between one point and three.

Standings Impact and Head-to-Head Context

The victory strengthens Milan Bithee’s position in the Indian Calcutta Football League table and adds another positive result to their head-to-head record against Anushilani. For Anushilani, the defeat is a frustrating setback, especially after competing well for long spells. Their next fixture becomes an important opportunity to turn possession into points.

Calcutta Football League results like this often shape the mood around a club’s season, and Milan Bithee will take confidence from keeping a clean sheet while grinding out a win. Anushilani, meanwhile, will focus on improving their final-third decision-making as the campaign continues.
