Milan Bithee and Anushilani Play Out Tense 0-0 Draw in Calcutta Football League

Milan Bithee and Anushilani cancelled each other out in a 0-0 draw in the Calcutta Football League on Saturday, October 3, 2026. The 17:00 kick-off produced a fiercely competitive midfield battle, with Anushilani’s defensive organisation frustrating Milan Bithee for long periods. Despite a handful of late chances, neither team could break the deadlock.

Match Overview

Milan Bithee began the game with intent, pushing their full-backs high and looking to create overloads on the flanks. Anushilani, however, were well prepared for that approach. They sat deep in a narrow block, invited pressure, and then tried to release their forwards into space behind the Milan Bithee defence. The result was a game of patience versus counter-attack, and for much of the afternoon, patience did not pay off.

The first half was short on clear chances but rich in duels. Milan Bithee’s midfielders worked hard to win second balls, while Anushilani’s back line stayed compact and cleared their lines efficiently. As the match wore on, Milan Bithee grew more desperate, sending extra bodies forward, but Anushilani held firm and nearly snatched a winner on the break.

Key Moments

• 9th minute: Anushilani’s first counter ended with a low shot that skimmed the outside of the post.
• 27th minute: Milan Bithee’s best first-half chance came from a corner, but the header was cleared off the line.
• 52nd minute: A Milan Bithee midfielder curled an effort just wide after a neat exchange on the edge of the box.
• 64th minute: Anushilani’s goalkeeper made a sharp one-handed save to deny a close-range volley.
• 88th minute: Milan Bithee won a free kick in a promising position, but the wall blocked the attempt.

Tactical Story

Anushilani’s 4-1-4-1 shape was designed to clog the central lanes and force Milan Bithee wide. It worked. Milan Bithee enjoyed more possession, but their crosses were often met by a crowded penalty area, and their creative players struggled to find pockets of space between the lines. When Anushilani did win the ball, they looked to move it forward quickly, though their finishing lacked the final touch.

Milan Bithee’s manager responded with substitutions in the second half, adding fresh legs in wide areas, but the pattern remained. Anushilani defended with discipline and discipline alone earned them a valuable point on the road.

Standout Players

Anushilani’s goalkeeper was the clear man of the match, producing two excellent saves and commanding his area well. Their central defender also stood out, making a series of timely clearances. For Milan Bithee, the captain in midfield drove the team forward and never stopped probing, while their left-back was a constant outlet with overlapping runs.

Table Impact and What’s Next

The draw keeps both teams in the middle pack of the Calcutta Football League standings, though Milan Bithee will feel they left two points behind. Anushilani will be encouraged by a second consecutive clean sheet and the way their defensive structure held up against a possession-heavy opponent. The head-to-head remains balanced, and both clubs will now turn their attention to upcoming fixtures where wins are needed to climb the table. For Milan Bithee, the challenge is turning territorial control into goals; for Anushilani, it is adding a sharper cutting edge on the counter.
