Real Bengaluru delivered a commanding home performance on 27 October 2026, defeating Bengaluru Roots FC 3-0 in the Indian Bangalore Super Division. The hosts controlled the contest from the early stages, scored at key moments in each half, and rounded off the evening with a clean sheet that underlined their superiority.

Match overview

Real Bengaluru started with intent, pressing high and forcing Bengaluru Roots FC into repeated turnovers in their own half. The early pressure paid off when the hosts opened the scoring inside the first quarter of an hour, and from that point the match settled into a pattern: Real Bengaluru dictating play, Roots FC chasing the ball and struggling to build sustained possession.

The second goal arrived before half-time and gave the home side a cushion that never looked threatened. After the break, Real Bengaluru managed the game intelligently, slowing the tempo when needed and then striking again to remove any lingering doubt. Roots FC worked hard but lacked the final-third quality to trouble the home defence.

Key moments

• Opening goal: Real Bengaluru broke the deadlock with a well-worked move down the right, finished confidently at the near post.
• Second before the break: A loose ball in midfield was pounced on, and a quick exchange ended with a low finish into the bottom corner.
• Goalkeeping save: Roots FC's best chance came early in the second half, but the Real Bengaluru goalkeeper reacted sharply to deny a close-range effort.
• Third goal: A patient passing sequence pulled Roots FC out of shape, allowing Real Bengaluru to seal the win with a composed finish.
• Clean sheet secured: The home backline dealt comfortably with late crosses and set pieces to close out the shutout.

Tactical story

Real Bengaluru's high press was the defining feature of the match. Their forwards and midfielders worked in unison to cut off passing lanes, forcing Roots FC into long balls that were easily recovered by the centre-backs. When Real Bengaluru won possession, they attacked quickly through the half-spaces, using their wide players to stretch the opposition defence.

Roots FC attempted to play out from the back but struggled against the intensity of the press. Their midfield was often outnumbered, and the isolation of their striker made it difficult to hold the ball up. Defensively, Roots FC sat deep after conceding the first goal, but that only invited more pressure and allowed Real Bengaluru to control the rhythm of the game.

Standout performers

Real Bengaluru's attacking midfielder was central to the victory, linking play between midfield and attack and contributing to two of the three goals. The centre-forward led the line effectively, holding the ball up and creating space for runners. At the back, the central defensive pairing was dominant in the air and composed in possession, while the goalkeeper made one crucial save to preserve the clean sheet.

Season impact

The three points strengthen Real Bengaluru's position in the Bangalore Super Division standings and extend their positive run of form. A 3-0 home win, complete with a clean sheet, is exactly the kind of result that builds momentum in a competitive league. For Bengaluru Roots FC, the defeat is a setback, but the performance highlighted areas to address: beating the press, retaining possession under pressure, and creating clearer chances in the final third.

Real Bengaluru will take plenty of confidence from the manner of the win, while Roots FC must regroup quickly. In a division where consistency is often the difference between mid-table comfort and a promotion push, this was a statement result for the home side.
