PSM Makassar U20 produced one of the most emphatic performances of their season on Saturday afternoon, dismantling Madura United U20 6-0 in the Indonesian U20 Super League at Stadion Andi Mattalatta. A ruthless attacking display, built on relentless pressing and quick ball movement, handed the young Juku Eja their biggest win of the campaign and left the visiting Madura side searching for answers.

The match, played under the punishing Makassar heat with a 15:00 kick-off, was effectively decided inside the opening half hour. PSM's front line pressed high, forced turnovers in dangerous areas, and converted their dominance into a steady stream of goals that never allowed Madura United U20 to settle into any rhythm.

First half: pressing and precision set the tone

PSM Makassar U20 came out with clear intent from the very first whistle, pushing their defensive line high and squeezing Madura United U20 into their own half. The opening goal arrived in the 12th minute when Aditya Ramadhan latched onto a loose ball on the edge of the box after sustained pressure and fired low past the goalkeeper to make it 1-0.

Madura United U20 tried to respond by dropping deeper and looking for quick counter-attacks through the flanks, but PSM's midfield trio hunted second balls with discipline and repeatedly turned possession back into attacking territory. That pattern produced a second goal shortly after the half-hour mark, Ramadhan again the beneficiary of patient build-up play and a well-timed run between the centre-backs.

Four minutes before the break, PSM added a third through Muh. Fajar Pratama, whose header from a whipped cross effectively ended the contest as a competitive fixture. The half-time whistle brought a 3-0 scoreline that reflected the hosts' complete control of the game.

Second half: the Juku Eja teenagers turn on the style

Any hope Madura United U20 had of a second-half revival was extinguished early in the restart. PSM kept their foot on the accelerator and Ramadhan completed his hat-trick in the 58th minute, finishing calmly after a slick one-two on the edge of the area — a goal that underlined both his movement and his composure in front of goal.

Moments later, Madura United U20 were reduced to ten players following a second yellow card for a mistimed challenge in midfield, and the match became an exercise in damage limitation for the visitors. PSM responded by spreading the ball wide, stretching the tiring defensive block, and adding further goals through Rizky Saputra in the 67th minute and substitute Ilham Akbar in the 84th.

By the final whistle, the scoreboard read 6-0 and the statistics told a similar story: PSM comfortably ahead on possession, shots on target, and corners, with Madura United U20 managing only a handful of half-chances on the break.

Tactical story: width, transitions, and a high line

The most impressive aspect of PSM Makassar U20's performance was the balance between aggression and structure. Their full-backs pushed high to create overloads on the flanks, while the deeper midfielder sat in front of the back line to cut off Madura's attempts at counter-attacking through the middle.

Madura United U20, by contrast, struggled to connect defence and attack. Their attempts to play out from the back were consistently disrupted by PSM's press, and their defenders were repeatedly pulled out of position by the hosts' clever rotations. Once the game reached 3-0, the tactical battle was effectively over — it became a question of how many PSM would score, not whether they would win.
