PSMS Medan produced a devastating performance to crush Persiku Kudus 6-0 in Indonesian Liga 2 on Sunday afternoon. The emphatic win at the Teladan Stadium was powered by a hat-trick from Ahmad Fauzi and a dominant team display.

Goal avalanche

PSMS Medan raced into a two-goal lead inside the first 20 minutes and never looked back. Ahmad Fauzi was in irresistible form, scoring three times, while Budi Santoso added a brace and Rahmat Hidayat completed the rout. Persiku Kudus had no answer to the home side's relentless attacking waves.

• 34' – Fauzi makes it 3-0 from the penalty spot.
• 45+2' – Fauzi completes his hat-trick with a fine solo goal.

Tactical story

PSMS Medan lined up in an attacking 4-3-3 and overwhelmed Persiku Kudus from the first whistle. Their high press forced numerous turnovers, and their quick passing carved open the defence at will. Persiku Kudus, meanwhile, were passive and struggled to string two passes together, leading to a long afternoon.

Standout players

Ahmad Fauzi was the undisputed star with a hat-trick, his movement and finishing too much for the visitors. Budi Santoso's brace and Rahmat Hidayat's late goal capped a complete team performance. PSMS Medan's goalkeeper was a spectator for most of the match, while Persiku Kudus's defence will want to forget this day quickly.

Season impact

This resounding victory sends PSMS Medan top of the Indonesian Liga 2 table, at least temporarily, and boosts their goal difference significantly. Persiku Kudus, on the other hand, drop points and confidence and must regroup for their next fixture. The result underlines PSMS Medan's promotion credentials and their attacking firepower.
