US Pergolettese U19 2-3 Alcione Milano U19 — Alcione Milano U19 edged a five-goal thriller 3-2 at US Pergolettese U19 in the Campionato Primavera 3 on 3 October 2026, a win built on ruthlessness in front of goal and a decisive burst either side of half-time.

Match Overview

Pergolettese, playing at home in the province of Cremona, made a competitive start and matched their visitors for the opening half hour. But Alcione's greater efficiency in the final third turned narrow advantages into goals, and the Milan club's two-goal cushion proved just enough to survive a determined late comeback.

The match finished 3-2, which flattered neither side. Pergolettese created enough chances to take something from the game, hitting the frame of the goal and forcing several saves, while Alcione's attacking transitions constantly threatened a fourth goal on the counter.

Key Moments

• Alcione strike first: A quick switch of play and a low finish opened the scoring for the visitors.
• Pergolettese respond: The hosts levelled almost immediately, pressing high and converting a rebound inside the box.
• Before the break: Alcione restored their lead with a well-taken set piece routine.
• Early second half: A third goal for Alcione, finishing a fast counter-attack, created the game's decisive margin.
• Late drama: Pergolettese pulled one back and pushed hard for an equaliser, but Alcione's defence held firm in the closing minutes.

Tactical Story

Alcione Milano approached the game in a 4-3-3 with an aggressive high press, targeting Pergolettese's build-up from the goalkeeper. It worked: two of their three goals originated from turnovers won in the opposition half, allowing them to attack a disorganised defensive line.

Pergolettese, using a compact 4-4-2, were at their best when they bypassed the press with long, direct passes and competed for second balls in midfield. Their equaliser came from exactly that route. The issue was sustainability — pressing that high for 90 minutes in Primavera 3 leaves gaps, and Alcione ruthlessly punished the ones that appeared.

Standout Players

Alcione's centre-forward was the match-winner in spirit, holding up the ball, linking play and finishing with real composure. Their central midfielder dictated the tempo, and the left-back was a constant attacking presence with overlapping runs that Pergolettese never fully solved.

For Pergolettese, the wide forward was the standout performer, scoring once and creating the chance that nearly levelled the game late on. The goalkeeper made two impressive stops but was left exposed by his defensive line on more than one occasion.

What It Means

Three points away from home are worth their weight in gold in the Campionato Primavera 3, where travel, small squads and inconsistent results make the table unpredictable. Alcione Milano move forward with confidence, their attacking output one of the more productive in the division.

Pergolettese will take encouragement from a spirited second-half display but must address their vulnerabilities when pressed high. Conceding three goals at home is a difficult statistic to ignore, and the coaching staff will be well aware that the difference between a mid-table finish and a promotion push usually comes down to defensive discipline.
