Breidablik UBK U19 delivered a composed and clinical away performance to beat FH Hafnarfjordur U19 2-0 in the Iceland U19 League on Thursday, September 17, 2026. Two well-taken goals either side of the interval gave the visitors full control of the contest, while FH were left to rue a lack of cutting edge in the final third. The result adds another important chapter to the season’s U19 standings and reinforces Breidablik’s reputation as one of the most dangerous attacking sides in the division.

Match Overview

From the opening whistle, Breidablik looked the more assertive team. Their midfield pressed high, forced FH into hurried clearances, and repeatedly turned possession into quick attacks through the wide areas. FH Hafnarfjordur U19, playing in familiar surroundings, tried to settle into a patient passing rhythm, but the visitors’ energy made that difficult. Breidablik’s back line held a disciplined shape, stepping up to catch FH forwards offside and limiting space between the lines.

The first goal arrived in the 23rd minute and perfectly captured the pattern of the game. A recovered ball in midfield was moved quickly to the right, and a low cross was met by Kristofer Orri Sigurdsson, who guided his finish beyond the FH goalkeeper from close range. It was Sigurdsson’s seventh goal of the U19 campaign and a reminder of why he has become one of the most closely watched attackers in the league.

FH responded with their best spell of the match before half-time. A driven effort from Aron Ingi Petursson forced a strong save from Breidablik goalkeeper Hrafn Ingi Olafsson, and a header from a corner drifted narrowly wide. But the equaliser never came, and Breidablik went into the break with a deserved lead.

Key Moments That Decided the Match

• 12th minute: Breidablik’s first warning shot — a curling effort from the edge of the box clips the top of the crossbar.
• 23rd minute: Kristofer Orri Sigurdsson opens the scoring after a swift right-sided move, finishing low past the goalkeeper.
• 38th minute: FH’s best chance of the first half — Aron Ingi Petursson forces a diving save from Hrafn Ingi Olafsson.
• 55th minute: A goal-line clearance from Breidablik centre-back Elias Mar Hallgrimsson preserves the visitors’ clean sheet.
• 67th minute: Viktor Snaer Jonsson doubles the lead with a composed finish after being played through by a clever disguised pass.
• 82nd minute: FH push numbers forward, but Breidablik’s goalkeeper stands tall to deny a late consolation.

Tactical Story

Breidablik set up in a flexible 4-3-3 that became a 4-5-1 out of possession, with the wingers dropping to protect the full-backs. That discipline was central to their success. FH Hafnarfjordur U19 tried to build through the middle, but Breidablik’s central midfield trio pressed in a coordinated way, cutting off passing lanes and forcing turnovers in dangerous areas.

The second goal was the clearest example of Breidablik’s tactical clarity. After winning the ball in the middle third, they played forward immediately rather than allowing FH to reset. Viktor Snaer Jonsson’s run was timed perfectly, and his finish was calm and precise. From that point on, the visitors managed the game intelligently, slowing the tempo when needed and taking the sting out of FH’s attempts to mount a comeback.

FH’s 4-2-3-1 shape showed promise in patches, especially when their full-backs pushed high and created overloads on the flanks. But the final ball was often rushed, and the team’s most dangerous moments came from set-pieces rather than open play. Against a well-organised Breidablik defence, that was never likely to be enough.

Standout Players

Kristofer Orri Sigurdsson (Breidablik UBK U19) was the game’s most influential attacker. His movement between the lines caused constant problems, and his opening goal settled the visitors’ nerves. He now has seven goals in nine U19 league appearances this season, placing him among the division’s top scorers.

Viktor Snaer Jonsson (Breidablik UBK U19) added the crucial second goal and linked play effectively throughout. His ability to hold the ball under pressure allowed Breidablik to transition from defence to attack with speed.

Hrafn Ingi Olafsson (Breidablik UBK U19) produced a composed goalkeeping display, making three important saves and commanding his penalty area well. The clean sheet was as much his achievement as the defenders’ in front of him.

For FH Hafnarfjordur U19, goalkeeper Bjarki Mar Sveinsson kept the score respectable with a string of saves, while Aron In
