Tactical story

Diosgyori VTK Women’s high press caused problems from the first whistle. They won the ball back quickly in advanced areas and used their wide players to stretch Szekszard’s defence. The midfield trio controlled the rhythm of the game, ensuring the hosts remained patient in possession while always looking for the forward pass.

Szekszard UFC Women improved after the break and found more space in midfield, but they were always chasing the game. Their consolation goal was well worked, yet it came too late to change the outcome. Defensively, they struggled with Diosgyori’s movement and crossing, which proved the difference in the final third.

Standout performers

Diosgyori’s centre-forward was central to the win, contributing a brace and consistently occupying the Szekszard centre-backs. The left winger was also a constant threat, delivering dangerous crosses and creating space for teammates. In midfield, Diosgyori’s captain dictated play with composure, while Szekszard’s goalkeeper made several saves to prevent an even heavier defeat.

Season impact

The victory strengthens Diosgyori VTK Women’s position in the Hungary Women’s Division 1 League and sends a clear message about their attacking potential. For Szekszard UFC Women, it is a difficult result that highlights the gap they must close against the division’s stronger sides. Diosgyori will take plenty of confidence from the performance as they prepare for their next league fixture.
