Kelen SC Women and Gyori Dozsa Women played out a goalless draw in the Hungary Women's Cup on October 3, 2026, in a tightly contested match that leaves the tie finely balanced.

Match Overview

The Hungary Women's Cup clash between Kelen SC Women and Gyori Dozsa Women ended 0-0 at Kelen's home ground. Gyori Dozsa, one of the top teams in Hungarian women's football, were expected to dominate, but they found a determined and well-organized Kelen side who were equal to the task. The match was a tactical battle, with Gyori Dozsa seeing more of the ball but failing to break down a resilient Kelen defense.

Key Moments

Gyori Dozsa started brightly and created the first chance in the 12th minute when their striker forced a smart save from the Kelen goalkeeper. The visitors continued to press, and in the 28th minute, they hit the post from a free-kick just outside the box. Kelen SC Women weathered the storm and nearly took the lead against the run of play in the 41st minute when a quick counter-attack ended with a shot that went just wide.

The second half followed a similar pattern. Gyori Dozsa dominated possession but found Kelen's goalkeeper in inspired form. She made a stunning double save in the 63rd minute, first denying a close-range header and then blocking the follow-up shot. Kelen had a rare opportunity in the 78th minute when their forward broke free, but her effort was saved by the Gyori Dozsa goalkeeper. In the end, neither team could find a winner, and the cup tie remains all to play for.

Tactical Story

Gyori Dozsa set up in a 4-3-3 formation, looking to use their width and technical ability to overwhelm Kelen. Kelen SC Women, aware of the challenge, lined up in a deep 5-4-1 formation, prioritizing defensive solidity and looking to hit on the counter. The game plan worked perfectly, as Kelen's defenders and midfielders worked tirelessly to close down space and limit Gyori Dozsa's clear chances. Gyori's manager made attacking substitutions in the second half, but Kelen's organization held firm.

Standout Players

Kelen SC Women's goalkeeper was the star of the match, producing a series of world-class saves to keep a clean sheet. Her performance was a major reason why her team held on for the draw. For Gyori Dozsa, their central midfielder was their best player, constantly looking for openings and testing the Kelen defense with through balls and long shots. Despite her efforts, she was left frustrated by the lack of a finishing touch.

What It Means for the Cup

The 0-0 draw means the Hungary Women's Cup tie will be decided in the return leg or potentially extra time and penalties if it is a single-legged affair. Kelen SC Women will be delighted with their defensive display and will travel to Gyori Dozsa with confidence. Gyori Dozsa, on the other hand, will be disappointed not to have taken a lead and will need to be more clinical in front of goal in the next match. The cup remains open for both teams.
