MOL Fehervar FC U19 edged Puskas Akademia U19 4-3 in a seven-goal thriller in the Hungary U19 A League on 17 October 2026, surviving a late comeback attempt to claim all three points. The match was fast, open and full of attacking intent, with both teams creating chances throughout the afternoon.

Match overview

Fehervar started brightly and took control of the game with two early goals, using the width of the pitch to stretch Puskas Akademia’s defence. The hosts looked comfortable in possession and threatened every time they moved the ball into the final third. Puskas Akademia, however, responded well and fought their way back into the contest before half-time.

The second half was end-to-end. Fehervar restored their advantage after Puskas had equalised, then added a fourth goal to create breathing room. A late Puskas goal set up a tense finish, but Fehervar managed the final minutes well enough to protect the win. The result was a fair reflection of the hosts’ greater cutting edge in the key moments.

Key moments

• 12th minute: Fehervar opened the scoring with a composed finish after a quick move down the left.
• 27th minute: The hosts doubled their lead from a corner, with a powerful header finding the net.
• 34th minute: Puskas Akademia pulled one back with a well-placed shot from outside the box.
• 49th minute: Puskas equalised early in the second half, finishing off a swift counter-attack.
• 58th minute: Fehervar regained the lead after a defensive error was punished immediately.
• 71st minute: A flowing team move made it 4-2, giving the hosts breathing space.
• 88th minute: Puskas scored a late third goal, but Fehervar held on.

Tactical story

Both teams prioritised attacking transitions, which made for an entertaining but defensively vulnerable contest. Fehervar’s wide players were particularly effective, isolating their markers and delivering dangerous crosses into the box. Puskas Akademia looked most threatening when they won the ball in midfield and attacked quickly, but their defensive line was often exposed by Fehervar’s movement.

The hosts’ ability to respond after conceding was crucial. Rather than retreating after Puskas equalised, Fehervar raised their tempo and continued to play forward. That bravery was rewarded with two more goals. Puskas Akademia will be frustrated by the errors that led to Fehervar’s third and fourth goals, but their fighting spirit kept the match alive until the final whistle.

Standout performers

Fehervar’s attacking midfielder was the game’s most influential player, driving forward and linking play in the final third. The centre-back who scored from the corner also delivered a strong defensive display. For Puskas Akademia, the striker caused problems throughout and was central to their comeback, while their goalkeeper made several important saves to keep the scoreline respectable.

Table impact

The 4-3 win is a significant result for MOL Fehervar FC U19 in the Hungary U19 A League, especially against a competitive Puskas Akademia side. It strengthens their position and shows they can win high-scoring matches as well as controlled ones. Puskas Akademia U19 leave with no points but plenty of positives from their attacking display, though defensive improvement will be a priority in the coming fixtures.
