Gyirmot SE secured a 2-1 away win against Szentlorinc SE in the Merkantil Bank Liga on 18 October 2026, scoring late to take all three points from a closely fought contest.

Szentlorinc started well and led at half-time, but Gyirmot responded with a stronger second-half display. The visitors equalised early in the second period and found the winner in the 88th minute, leaving the home side with little time to respond.

Match overview

Szentlorinc took the lead in the 33rd minute when Ádám Horváth finished from inside the box after a period of sustained pressure. The home side looked comfortable for the remainder of the first half and went into the break with a deserved advantage.

Gyirmot changed the momentum after the restart. They pressed higher and moved the ball more quickly, and the equaliser arrived in the 54th minute through Patrik Nagy, who converted a low cross at the back post.

Both sides had chances in an open final half-hour, but Gyirmot looked the more likely winner. The decisive moment came in the 88th minute when László Tóth struck from the edge of the area, beating the goalkeeper with a well-placed effort.

Key moments

• 33’ — Szentlorinc 1-0: Ádám Horváth scores from close range after sustained home pressure.
• 54’ — Gyirmot 1-1: Patrik Nagy equalises at the back post from a low cross.
• 67’ — Szentlorinc chance: A header from a corner goes narrowly over the bar.

Tactical story

Szentlorinc’s first-half performance was built on quick combinations and pressure in wide areas, but they could not maintain that intensity after the break. Gyirmot adjusted their shape, pressed higher and forced the home side into longer passes.

The visitors’ equaliser gave them belief, and their late winner came from their willingness to attack the edge of the box. Szentlorinc pushed for a response, but Gyirmot’s defence stayed organised in the final minutes.

Standout players

Nagy’s equaliser was the turning point for Gyirmot, while Tóth delivered the decisive moment. Horváth was Szentlorinc’s brightest attacking player and took his goal well, but the home side lacked the same threat in the second half.

What it means

Gyirmot SE will value the three points after coming from behind away from home. For Szentlorinc SE, the defeat is a tough one to take after a promising first half. In a competitive Merkantil Bank Liga season, late goals and game management are already proving decisive.
