Diosgyori VTK II delivered a ruthless away performance to beat Tiszaujvaros 4-0 in Hungary’s Nemzeti Bajnoksag III on 17 October 2026, scoring early and never allowing the hosts to settle.

The visitors combined compact defending with quick, direct attacking and produced one of their most convincing results of the season. Tiszaujvaros struggled to cope with Diosgyori’s pressing and were punished for repeated turnovers in midfield.

Match overview

Diosgyori started aggressively and took the lead inside the opening quarter of an hour. A high turnover in the Tiszaujvaros half led to a swift attacking move, and the away side finished with precision. The early goal forced the hosts to push forward, which only created more space for Diosgyori’s counter-attacks.

The second goal arrived before half-time, again stemming from quick transitions. Diosgyori’s forward line moved the ball efficiently, pulling the Tiszaujvaros defence out of shape before doubling the advantage. The home side enjoyed spells of possession but lacked penetration in the final third, with their crosses repeatedly cleared by a well-organised visiting back line.

Any hopes of a Tiszaujvaros comeback were extinguished shortly after the restart. Diosgyori scored a third goal from a set piece, with a header finding the net after a dangerous delivery. The fourth came late on as the hosts pushed men forward, leaving themselves exposed to another fast break.

Key moments

• Early breakthrough: Diosgyori’s high press forced a turnover and the opening goal followed within seconds.
• Second before the break: A quick counter-attack exposed Tiszaujvaros’ stretched defence.
• Set-piece third: A well-delivered corner was headed home to end the contest.
• Late fourth: Another counter-attack completed the rout in the closing stages.

Tactical story

Diosgyori’s mid-block was the foundation of the win. They allowed Tiszaujvaros possession in harmless areas but closed down aggressively whenever the ball entered central midfield. Once they won it back, their first thought was always forward, with runners attacking the space behind the home defence.

Tiszaujvaros tried to build through the flanks, but their final ball was inconsistent and their midfield struggled to support the striker. When they did create half-chances, Diosgyori’s goalkeeper was alert and composed. The visitors’ discipline and clinical finishing made the difference in a one-sided scoreline.

Standout performers and season impact

Diosgyori’s centre-forward led the line superbly, scoring twice and holding the ball up to bring others into play. The midfield anchor also impressed, breaking up attacks and starting counters with simple, effective passes. For Tiszaujvaros, the goalkeeper prevented an even heavier defeat with several sharp saves.

The three points and the four-goal margin give Diosgyori VTK II a significant boost to their goal difference and confidence. Tiszaujvaros, meanwhile, must address their defensive transitions and set-piece marking before their next fixture. In a division where away wins are hard-earned, this was a statement result for the visitors.
