Pécsi MFC secured a convincing 3-0 home victory over MTK Hungária FC II in the Hungarian Nemzeti Bajnokság III on Saturday, September 19, 2026. The home side controlled the match from the early stages, scored at key moments, and managed the game comfortably to take all three points.

Match overview

Pécsi MFC started with high intensity and took the lead inside the first twenty minutes. Their pressing prevented MTK Hungária FC II from establishing any rhythm, and the second goal early in the second half effectively decided the contest. The third goal late on added deserved gloss to a professional performance.

MTK Hungária FC II, a young development side, showed flashes of technical quality but struggled physically against a more experienced Pécsi MFC team. The visitors kept working until the end, but they rarely threatened the home goal after falling behind.

• 54th minute – Pécsi MFC 2-0: Dávid Szabó converted a penalty after a foul inside the area.

Tactical story

Pécsi MFC dominated the middle third. Their midfielders won the majority of loose balls and quickly turned defence into attack. The home side used the width of the pitch well, stretching MTK’s young defence and creating space for crosses and cut-backs.

MTK Hungária FC II tried to play out from the back, but Pécsi’s pressing forced several errors. The visitors improved slightly after half-time, but the penalty and the third goal removed any doubt about the outcome.

Standout players

Bence Kovács set the tone with his early goal and linked play intelligently throughout. Dávid Szabó was calm from the penalty spot and controlled the tempo in midfield, while Márk Tóth’s late header capped a strong all-round team display. Pécsi MFC’s goalkeeper also played his part with a late save to preserve the clean sheet.

Season impact

The win keeps Pécsi MFC in a strong position in the Nemzeti Bajnokság III standings and reinforces their reputation as one of the division’s toughest home sides. For MTK Hungária FC II, the result is a learning experience for a young squad that will need to adapt quickly to the physical demands of the league. Pécsi MFC will now look to build on this result in their next fixture.
