Kispest Honved II claimed bragging rights in the reserve-team derby with a convincing 3-0 victory over Ujpest FC B in the Hungary Nemzeti Bajnoksag III on Sunday, September 20, 2026. The win lifts Honved II up the table and adds another chapter to the fierce rivalry between the two Budapest clubs.

Match Overview

The match kicked off with high intensity, as expected in any Honved-Ujpest clash, even at reserve-team level. Honved II took the game to their visitors from the start, pressing high and forcing early corners. Their dominance paid off in the 25th minute when they took the lead. Ujpest B tried to respond but struggled to keep possession.

Honved II doubled their advantage just before half-time, and any hopes of a Ujpest comeback were extinguished early in the second half when a third goal went in. The home side managed the game expertly from there, keeping a clean sheet and securing a morale-boosting win.

Key Moments

• 25th minute: Honved II take the lead through a clinical finish from striker Bence Kovács after a swift counter-attack.
• 44th minute: Kovács turns provider, setting up Márk Tóth to slot home from close range.
• 53rd minute: Dániel Szabó adds a third with a header from a corner, effectively ending the contest.
• 78th minute: Ujpest B's best chance is cleared off the line by Honved defender Ákos Nagy.

Tactical Breakdown

Honved II lined up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with Kovács leading the line and supported by an energetic attacking midfield trio. They focused on quick, direct passing and exploited the spaces behind Ujpest's defense. Ujpest FC B played a 4-3-3, trying to control the midfield, but they were overrun by Honved's pressing.

The key battle was in midfield, where Honved's duo of Szabó and Tóth won the majority of duels. This allowed Honved to dictate the tempo and launch repeated attacks. Ujpest's defense looked shaky and struggled to deal with crosses into the box.

Standout Performers

Bence Kovács (Kispest Honved II): A goal and an assist, plus relentless running. He was the best player on the pitch.

Márk Tóth (Kispest Honved II): Controlled the midfield and scored a well-taken goal.

Dániel Szabó (Kispest Honved II): Added the third goal and was solid in both boxes.

For Ujpest FC B, midfielder Péter Balogh showed some neat touches but was often isolated.

What It Means

This victory moves Kispest Honved II into a more comfortable position in the Nemzeti Bajnoksag III standings. For a reserve team, development is key, but winning derbies always matters. The result will boost confidence for the young players. Ujpest FC B, meanwhile, will need to regroup and work on their defensive organization.

Both teams continue their campaigns next week, with Honved II looking to build momentum and Ujpest B aiming to bounce back.
