Final score: Hódmezővásárhelyi 2-2 Kispest Honvéd II

Hódmezővásárhelyi and Kispest Honvéd II shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw in Hungary’s Nemzeti Bajnokság III on October 24, 2026, with a late equaliser rescuing a point for the home side at the end of a contest that swung back and forth under the lights.

Match Overview

Played at 19:00, the game had the feel of a classic NB III encounter: compact defending, quick transitions, and spells of pressure from both sides. Hódmezővásárhelyi tried to impose themselves early through patient possession and width, while Kispest Honvéd II sat in a disciplined mid-block and looked to strike on the counter. The visitors drew first blood and remained dangerous whenever they broke at speed, but the home team’s persistence eventually earned them a share of the points.

Key Moments

• 18th minute: Kispest Honvéd II took the lead when Bence Kovács finished a fast counter-attack with a low effort across the goalkeeper.
• 41st minute: Hódmezővásárhelyi equalised through Márk Tóth, who arrived late in the box and converted from close range after sustained pressure.
• 63rd minute: The visitors restored their advantage when Dávid Szabó found space between the lines and curled a precise shot into the far corner.
• 89th minute: Péter Nagy rescued a point for the hosts, reacting quickest to a loose ball inside the area and forcing it over the line.

Tactical Story

Hódmezővásárhelyi’s approach was built on pushing the full-backs high and keeping the midfield compact enough to win second balls. That strategy produced plenty of territory, especially after half-time, but it also left space for Kispest Honvéd II to counter. The visitors’ 4-2-3-1 shape worked well in transition, with Szabó repeatedly finding pockets behind the home midfield. As the game wore on, Hódmezővásárhelyi’s substitutions added fresh legs in wide areas, and the late surge finally told.

Standout Players

Márk Tóth was central to Hódmezővásárhelyi’s comeback, combining energy with intelligent movement in the box. Péter Nagy’s late goal underlined his impact from the bench, while Dávid Szabó was Kispest Honvéd II’s most dangerous outlet throughout. Both goalkeepers also made important saves in a match that could easily have produced more than four goals.

Season Impact

The draw adds one point to each side’s tally in what remains a tightly packed Nemzeti Bajnokság III table. Hódmezővásárhelyi will take encouragement from their fighting spirit and late pressure, while Kispest Honvéd II will feel they let two points slip after leading twice. In a division where fine margins decide promotion and relegation battles, the result leaves both teams with plenty to build on and a sense of opportunity missed.
