Hodmezovasarhelyi and FC Dabas played out a 1-1 draw in their Hungary Nemzeti Bajnokság III match on October 10, 2026, at a floodlit Városi Stadion. The home side took an early lead through a well-worked move, but Dabas responded with a composed equalizer to claim a share of the points in a competitive mid-table encounter.

Match Overview

Hodmezovasarhelyi started the game with real intent, pressing high and looking to use the width of the pitch. Their early dominance paid off when they opened the scoring, but FC Dabas gradually settled into the contest and began to string together passes in midfield. The visitors finished the first half strongly and carried that momentum into the second period, though neither side could find a winning goal despite late chances at both ends.

The draw leaves both teams with plenty to build on in the NB III campaign. Hodmezovasarhelyi showed attacking promise but were frustrated by Dabas’s resilience, while the away side demonstrated the kind of away-day discipline that will serve them well over the coming months.

Key Moments

• 23rd minute: Hodmezovasarhelyi broke the deadlock when Tamás Németh collected a clever through ball and drilled a low shot into the bottom corner.
• 41st minute: FC Dabas equalized just before the break as Zoltán Szabó rose highest to meet a corner and head the ball past the home goalkeeper.
• 67th minute: The home side nearly restored their lead when a free-kick from the edge of the box clipped the outside of the post.
• 84th minute: Dabas had a golden chance to win it, but a goal-line clearance from a Hodmezovasarhelyi defender kept the score level.

Tactical Story

Hodmezovasarhelyi lined up in a 4-2-3-1 and looked to overload the flanks, with their full-backs pushing high to support the wingers. That approach created early chances, but it also left space behind for Dabas to exploit on the counter. The visitors adjusted well after conceding, switching to a more compact 4-4-2 out of possession and forcing the home side into sideways passes.

In the second half, Dabas grew more adventurous, pushing their central midfielders higher and winning second balls in dangerous areas. Hodmezovasarhelyi responded by dropping their defensive line slightly deeper and looking to hit on the break, but a lack of final-third precision meant the game ended all square.

Standout Players

Tamás Németh was a constant threat for Hodmezovasarhelyi, using his pace to stretch the Dabas back line and scoring a well-taken opening goal. In midfield, Dávid Horváth kept the home side ticking with neat distribution and several important interceptions. For FC Dabas, Zoltán Szabó was the standout performer, not only for his equalizing header but also for his defensive work at set pieces. Goalkeeper Péter Balogh also made two crucial saves to preserve the draw.

Season Impact

The point keeps Hodmezovasarhelyi in the middle of the NB III table, where consistency at home will be key if they are to push towards the upper half. FC Dabas will view the draw as a useful away result, especially after falling behind early. Both teams remain within touching distance of the promotion-chasing pack, and this hard-fought stalemate could prove valuable come the end of the season.
