Dunaharaszti MTK 2-1 Bodajk FC Siofok — Dunaharaszti MTK edged a competitive, hard-fought contest in Hungary's Nemzeti Bajnokság III, beating Bodajk FC Siofok 2-1 on 3 October 2026. In a match that swung back and forth after the interval, the hosts' greater composure in the final third ultimately proved decisive.

Match overview

Nemzeti Bajnokság III fixtures are rarely straightforward, and this one followed the familiar pattern of a tight, physical encounter decided by small details. Dunaharaszti MTK started brightly and controlled the opening exchanges, moving the ball quickly through midfield and looking to attack the space behind the visiting full-backs.

Bodajk FC Siofok responded with a more direct approach, using their physical presence up front to win fouls and second balls. The equaliser, when it came, was deserved on the balance of pressure — but it also sparked the hosts into a decisive final push.

Key moments

• First half — Dunaharaszti MTK take the lead with a composed finish following a flowing move through the middle of the pitch.
• Second half, early — Bodajk FC Siofok level the score, capitalising on a defensive mix-up and converting from close range.
• Second half, late — The hosts restore their advantage with a goal that owed much to persistence, the ball eventually forced home after a scramble in the penalty area.
• Final minutes — Dunaharaszti see out the game with disciplined defending and a couple of well-timed clearances.

Tactical story

The key difference between the sides was patience. Dunaharaszti MTK resisted the urge to rush their attacks, circulating the ball and waiting for Bodajk to lose their defensive shape. Their midfield trio rotated constantly, making it difficult for the visitors to mark man-for-man, and the wide players stretched the pitch to create room in the centre.

Bodajk's game plan was built around transitions and set-pieces, and it worked well enough to keep them in the match. What let them down was their reaction after scoring the equaliser: instead of consolidating, they pushed too high, and the winning goal came from exactly the kind of space that decision created.

Standout performers

The Dunaharaszti MTK number ten was at the heart of almost every meaningful attack, linking play intelligently and delivering the pass that led to the opening goal. At the back, the home captain organised a defence that grew stronger as the match progressed, particularly in the tense closing stages.

For Bodajk FC Siofok, the goalscorer was their most dangerous outlet and the central midfielder worked tirelessly to win possession. It was an encouraging away display in many respects, but one that ends without reward.

What it means

Taking maximum points from a tight home fixture is exactly the kind of result that shapes a season in Nemzeti Bajnokság III, where the margins between the top and middle of the table are consistently narrow. Dunaharaszti MTK gain momentum and confidence, particularly with a winning goal scored so late in the game.

Bodajk FC Siofok leave with a narrow defeat that will sting, but their performance showed enough to suggest they will pick up points on their travels. Both sides now turn their attention to the next round, with the table still tightly packed.
