Budaorsi SC 5-1 Szekszard UFC: Hosts Produce Five-Star Display in Nemzeti Bajnokság III

Budaorsi SC delivered one of the most emphatic performances of the Nemzeti Bajnokság III round, defeating Szekszard UFC 5-1 on September 20, 2026. A ruthless first-half display set the tone, and the home side never looked back, combining sharp finishing with relentless pressing to claim all three points in style.

The match was effectively decided inside the opening 45 minutes. Budaorsi came out with high energy, pressing Szekszard’s defenders into mistakes and attacking with purpose every time they won the ball back. The opener arrived in the 6th minute when a quick turnover allowed the home side’s No. 9 to slot a low finish beyond the goalkeeper. The same player doubled the lead in the 22nd minute, converting a cross from the right with a composed first-time strike.

Key Moments

• 6' — Budaorsi 1-0: A high press forced a loose pass, and the striker finished coolly inside the box.
• 22' — Budaorsi 2-0: A sweeping move down the right ended with a close-range finish.
• 39' — Budaorsi 3-0: The No. 9 completed a first-half hat-trick with a header from a corner.
• 54' — Budaorsi 3-1: Szekszard pulled one back with a well-struck effort from the edge of the area.
• 61' — Budaorsi 4-1: The home captain restored the three-goal cushion with a curling shot.
• 78' — Budaorsi 5-1: A substitute added the fifth after another quick counter-attack.

Szekszard’s brief hope came just after half-time when a tidy finish reduced the deficit to 3-1, but any thoughts of a comeback were quickly extinguished. Budaorsi responded with two more goals, showcasing the depth and confidence within their squad. The fifth goal, in particular, highlighted their ability to transition from defence to attack in a matter of seconds.

Tactical Story and Standout Players

Budaorsi’s game plan was built on intensity. They pressed Szekszard’s central defenders aggressively, cutting off passing lanes into midfield and forcing long balls that were easily dealt with by the home defence. In possession, they attacked through the half-spaces, with their full-backs overlapping to create overloads out wide. The result was a constant stream of chances.

The undisputed standout was Budaorsi’s No. 9, whose first-half hat-trick set the platform for the rout. His movement in the box was excellent, and his finishing was clinical. The captain also controlled the tempo from midfield, while the substitute who scored the fifth goal made an immediate impact. For Szekszard, the goalkeeper made several saves to keep the score from becoming even more lopsided, but the defence struggled to cope with Budaorsi’s speed and pressing.

What the Result Means

The three points lift Budaorsi SC up the Nemzeti Bajnokság III table and send a clear message about their attacking potential. A 5-1 win can be a season-defining result, boosting confidence and goal difference in equal measure. Szekszard UFC, meanwhile, will need to regroup quickly; conceding five goals on the road is a setback, and tightening up defensively will be the priority in the coming weeks.

For Budaorsi, the challenge now is consistency. If they can reproduce this level of intensity and finishing, they will be a difficult opponent for anyone in the division.
