Puskás Akadémia FC left Győr with all three points after a disciplined 1-0 away victory over Győri ETO FC in the Fizz Liga, a result that underlined the visitors' growing reputation as one of the most tactically mature sides in the Hungarian top flight.

A Tight Away Win at the ETO Park

Played in front of a passionate home crowd at the ETO Park in Győr, the match was decided by a single goal, but the story of the ninety minutes was far richer than the scoreline suggests. Puskás Akadémia controlled the tempo for long stretches, pressing high and starving Győri ETO of clean possession in the middle third, while the hosts pushed for an equaliser that never quite arrived.

Győr, one of the traditional heavyweights of Hungarian football with a rich history stretching back to their famous European runs, were made to pay for their wastefulness in the final third. The visitors' back line held firm under late pressure, and the three points moved Puskás Akadémia into a stronger position in the Fizz Liga standings.

Match Overview

• Fixture: Győri ETO FC vs Puskás Akadémia FC
• Competition: Fizz Liga (Hungarian top division)
• Final score: Győri ETO FC 0-1 Puskás Akadémia FC
• Winning goal: Puskás Akadémia, second half

Key Moments

The breakthrough came after a sustained spell of Puskás Akadémia possession, with the ball worked patiently into the box before a composed finish beat the Győr goalkeeper. It was exactly the kind of goal the Felcsút club has built its identity around — patient build-up, quick combinations, and a clinical final touch.

Győri ETO responded well. A series of crosses and set pieces tested the away defence, and there was a loud appeal for a penalty that was waved away. The best chance for the hosts arrived late, but a last-ditch block kept the clean sheet intact for the visitors.

Tactical Story

Puskás Akadémia set up in a compact 4-2-3-1, using their double pivot to screen the space in front of the back four and forcing Győr's creative players out to the flanks. The wide areas were then doubled up, cutting off the supply line into the box.

Győri ETO, needing a response, pushed their full-backs higher in the second half, which opened counter-attacking space the visitors gladly exploited. The home side's inability to convert territorial dominance into clear chances was the defining tactical failing of their evening.

Standout Players

• Puskás Akadémia's goalkeeper — a commanding performance, with key saves in the closing stages to preserve the shutout.
• Puskás Akadémia's central midfield — relentless in the press, winning second balls and dictating the rhythm of the game.
• Győri ETO's wide attackers — energetic and direct, but too often isolated against a well-organised defensive block.

Season Impact

For Puskás Akadémia, this is the type of away result that builds real momentum in a league season. Winning in Győr is never routine, and doing so with a clean sheet strengthens both their league position and their confidence heading into a demanding run of fixtures.

Győri ETO, meanwhile, are left to reflect on a familiar frustration: plenty of effort and possession, but too little end product. Closing that gap between performance and points will be the priority for the coaching staff as the Fizz Liga campaign progresses.
