Dinamo Maksimir Women and ZNK Hajduk Split Women played out a competitive 1-1 draw in the Croatian Women's First League on Sunday, October 4, 2026, a result that reflects how evenly matched these two sides were across 90 hard-fought minutes.

Hajduk Split started brightly and took the lead in the 34th minute. A smart run from midfield pulled Dinamo’s defence out of shape, and a precise pass released the forward to finish low into the corner. It was a well-crafted goal and gave the visitors a deserved advantage at the break.

Dinamo Maksimir responded with greater urgency in the second half. They pushed their full-backs higher, increased the tempo of their passing, and began to pin Hajduk back. The equaliser arrived in the 72nd minute after a sustained spell of pressure, with a driven cross from the left being turned in at the near post. The goal sparked celebrations and set up a tense final period.

Match overview

Both teams had chances to win it. Hajduk threatened on the counter, using their pace to test Dinamo’s defensive line, while Dinamo dominated possession and forced a series of corners. In the closing minutes, each goalkeeper made an important save to preserve the draw. A point apiece was a fair reflection of an absorbing contest.

The match was played with real intensity, typical of a Croatian Women’s First League fixture between two ambitious clubs. Neither side was willing to settle for a draw until the final whistle, and the midfield battle was particularly fierce.

Key moments

• 34’ – Dinamo 0-1: Hajduk Split score with a well-timed run and low finish.
• 72’ – Dinamo 1-1: Dinamo equalise from a driven cross after sustained pressure.
• Late saves: Both goalkeepers produce crucial stops to keep the score level.

Tactical story

Hajduk Split’s plan was built on quick transitions and direct running. They defended in a mid-block and looked to release their forwards into space whenever Dinamo lost possession. It worked well in the first half, but as Dinamo pushed more players forward after the break, those counterattacking chances became harder to find.

Dinamo Maksimir’s strength was their width. They repeatedly overloaded the flanks, delivered early crosses, and forced Hajduk’s defenders to turn toward their own goal. The equaliser came from exactly that pattern. In the end, neither side could find a winner, but both showed why they are considered contenders in the Croatian Women’s First League.

Standout players

Dinamo’s left-sided attacker was a constant threat and provided the assist for the equaliser. Their central midfielder also controlled the tempo well in the second half. For Hajduk Split, the goalscorer was sharp and efficient, while the goalkeeper made several key saves, especially late on when Dinamo pressed for a winner.

Season impact

The draw keeps both teams in the mix but leaves each with a sense of what might have been. Dinamo Maksimir Women will be pleased with their second-half response, while ZNK Hajduk Split Women will take confidence from earning a point away from home. In a league where fine margins decide titles, this could prove an important result for both clubs as the season develops.
