Key Moments

Panaitolikos started on the front foot and got their reward in the opening quarter of the game, taking the lead with a sharply taken goal after sustained pressure down the right side. The early breakthrough settled any nerves and forced Kifisias to come out of their defensive shell.

The second goal arrived before half-time and was arguably the best move of the match — a quick exchange on the edge of the area, a clever run in behind, and a composed finish into the corner. At 2-0, the tie looked to be slipping away from the visitors.

AE Kifisias responded well after the break and pulled a goal back, capitalising on a moment of hesitation in the home defence to halve the deficit. It was a reminder that knockout football rarely runs smoothly.

Panaitolikos restored control, though, and sealed the result with a third goal, finishing off a counter-attack after Kifisias had committed bodies forward in search of an equaliser. The final whistle confirmed a fully deserved passage into the next round.

Tactical Story

The hosts set up with a high defensive line and pressed aggressively in the opposition half, a strategy that repeatedly forced Kifisias into hurried clearances. Their midfielders were quick to support the attack, creating numerical advantages in central areas and allowing the wide players to isolate their markers.

Kifisias looked most dangerous when they managed to break the first line of pressure and get their forwards running at the defence. Their goal came from precisely that scenario, and it briefly gave them belief. But their inability to sustain possession for long periods meant they were always chasing the game.

Standout Performers

Panaitolikos' attacking players were the difference on the night, with the forward line combining intelligently and finishing with confidence. The central midfielder who dictated the tempo deserves particular mention for his range of passing and his work off the ball, while the goalkeeper handled a handful of awkward crosses with authority.

For AE Kifisias U19, the goalscorer took his chance well, and the young goalkeeper made several excellent stops to keep the scoreline respectable. There were encouraging signs in the second-half spell when the visitors pushed forward with real intent.

What It Means

Cup runs are invaluable for youth sides, offering knockout pressure, evening kick-offs, and the chance to test academy players against unfamiliar opposition. Panaitolikos U19 move forward with confidence and a clear sense of identity, built on pressing, quick combinations, and clinical finishing.

AE Kifisias U19 exit the competition with a valuable learning experience. Their second-half response showed character, and the challenge now is to turn that 20-minute spell of competitiveness into a full 90-minute performance in league fixtures.
