Odysseas Moschatou Women 0-0 OFI FC Women: Defences Hold Firm in Greek Women’s Super League

Odysseas Moschatou Women and OFI FC Women played out a 0-0 draw in the Greek Women’s Super League on Sunday, 25 October 2026, with both sides taking a point from a tight and tactically disciplined contest. Clear chances were limited, but the match was far from dull, with midfield pressure, quick transitions and two goalkeepers who handled their work confidently.

Odysseas Moschatou enjoyed the better of the early possession. The home side looked to build through the middle and create overloads on the flanks, while OFI FC Women sat compact and invited pressure before looking to break quickly. That pattern defined much of the first half: Odysseas circulated the ball well, but the final pass too often arrived under pressure or was cut out by a well-positioned defender.

Match overview

The first real opening came from a set piece, with Odysseas sending a free-kick towards the far post. OFI’s goalkeeper reacted well to tip the ball over the bar. At the other end, OFI showed their threat on the counter-attack, forcing the home defence to stay alert against runners in behind. The visitors’ best spell came just after half-time, when a quick break ended with a shot dragged narrowly wide of the post.

As the match entered its final quarter, Odysseas increased the tempo and pushed more players forward. A header from a corner was cleared off the line, and a low cross from the right was intercepted just before it could reach a waiting forward. OFI, meanwhile, remained organised and nearly stole all three points with a late break, but the final effort lacked the accuracy to beat the goalkeeper.

Key moments

• Early set-piece threat: Odysseas forced a fine save from an angled free-kick in the first half.
• OFI’s counter-attacking chance: A quick break after the restart created a shooting opportunity that went just wide.
• Goal-line clearance: Odysseas’s best chance of the second half came from a corner and was cleared from the six-yard box.
• Late OFI break: The visitors almost punished Odysseas on the counter but could not find the target.

Tactical story

The match was a classic battle between possession and compactness. Odysseas Moschatou wanted to play through midfield, but OFI FC Women defended the central lane well and forced the home side into wide areas. Once the ball went wide, OFI’s full-backs and midfielders collapsed quickly to close down crossing angles.

OFI’s plan was clear: stay patient, keep the shape and strike in transition. It nearly worked. Their best moments came when Odysseas lost the ball in advanced areas and left space behind the full-backs. The home side, for their part, will feel they did enough territorially to win, but they lacked the final touch in the penalty area.

What it means

A point apiece keeps both teams moving in the Greek Women’s Super League, but the result will feel different in each dressing room. Odysseas Moschatou will value the clean sheet and the control they showed for long spells, while OFI FC Women will take encouragement from their defensive discipline and the chances created on the break.

In a league where fine margins often decide the table, goalless draws can be important building blocks. Both sides showed enough organisation to suggest they can remain competitive, but both will also know that converting possession into clear chances is the next step.
