Asteras Tripolis Women produced a devastating attacking display on September 20, 2026, dismantling AE Kifisias 6-0 in the Greek Women's Super League. The home side were relentless from the first minute, scoring three goals before half-time and adding three more after the break to complete a comprehensive victory.

Asteras Tripolis Run Riot at Home

The match was effectively decided inside the opening half-hour. Asteras pressed high, moved the ball quickly, and found space behind Kifisias’s defence almost at will. The visitors simply had no answer to the pace and precision of the home side’s attacking play. By the time the half-time whistle blew, the contest was over as a competitive fixture.

Asteras’s dominance was total. They controlled possession, created chances from both flanks and through the middle, and defended with composure whenever Kifisias attempted to counter. The 6-0 scoreline flattered the visitors, if anything, as Asteras hit the woodwork twice and forced several saves from the Kifisias goalkeeper.

Match Overview

Asteras set up in an aggressive 4-3-3, with the front three pressing the opposition centre-backs and cutting off passes into midfield. Kifisias tried to play out from the back but were repeatedly caught in possession. The home side’s midfield trio dominated the second balls, ensuring that the pressure was relentless. Asteras’s full-backs pushed high, creating overloads in wide areas that Kifisias could not handle.

Key Moments

• 8th minute – Eleni Papadopoulou opens the floodgates: A neat one-two on the edge of the box ended with a calm finish into the far corner.
• 22nd minute – Katerina Nikolaidou makes it 2-0: A driven cross from the right was turned in at the near post.

Tactical Story

Asteras’s high press was the foundation of their victory. They suffocated Kifisias in their own half, forcing turnovers in dangerous areas. When they won the ball, they attacked with numbers and speed. Kifisias, by contrast, sat deep and hoped to hit on the break, but their isolated forward was easily contained by Asteras’s centre-backs. The visitors’ midfield was overrun, and their defence was pulled apart by constant movement.

Standout Players

Eleni Papadopoulou was the undisputed star of the show, scoring a hat-trick and causing problems throughout with her dribbling and link-up play. Katerina Nikolaidou’s two goals and tireless running made her a constant threat, while Sofia Georgiou controlled the tempo from midfield. For Kifisias, it was a difficult afternoon, but their goalkeeper made several saves to prevent an even heavier defeat.
