AE Kifisias (W) and AO Rea Women shared the points after a 1-1 draw in the Greek Women’s Super League on Sunday, October 18, 2026. Kifisias enjoyed more of the ball, but Rea’s compact shape and quick counter-attacks kept the match balanced throughout.

Match overview

Kifisias controlled the early possession and probed for openings down both flanks. Their patience was rewarded when a well-timed run into the box produced the opening goal. Rea responded well, pressing higher and forcing a few mistakes at the back. The equaliser arrived before half-time, with a fast break ending in a low finish that gave the Kifisias goalkeeper no chance.

The second half was more open. Kifisias pushed numbers forward in search of a winner, while Rea looked dangerous on the break. Both sides had chances to take all three points, but a combination of solid goalkeeping and hurried finishing kept the score level. The final whistle confirmed a draw that felt fair on the balance of play.

Key moments

• 27th minute: AE Kifisias take the lead with a composed finish inside the penalty area.
• 43rd minute: AO Rea Women equalise after a quick counter-attack.
• 61st minute: Kifisias hit the side-netting after a flowing move down the right.
• 84th minute: Rea’s goalkeeper makes a strong save to deny a late winner.

Tactical story

Kifisias built patiently from the back, using midfield rotations to create space in wide areas. Their full-backs were advanced for much of the game, which left them exposed to Rea’s counters. Rea sat compact in a mid-to-low block and looked to release their forwards quickly after winning the ball. That approach produced the equaliser and nearly a second goal in the second half.

Standout performers

Kifisias’ central midfielder was the game’s most influential passer, constantly finding pockets of space and switching play. Rea’s goalkeeper produced several important saves, while their centre-back pairing dealt well with crosses. The Rea forward who scored the equaliser was a constant threat with his movement in behind.

What the result means

Both teams add a point to their Greek Women’s Super League totals. Kifisias will feel they did enough to win, but Rea’s defensive discipline and counter-attacking threat made the draw a reasonable outcome. The result keeps both sides in the competitive pack as the season progresses.
