Rouf FC 2-0 Amfiali — Rouf FC produced a controlled, professional display to beat Amfiali 2-0 in the Greek Gamma Ethniki, with goals in either half and a defensive effort that kept their opponents at arm's length throughout.

Rouf take care of business at home

Home form is the currency of the Greek Gamma Ethniki, and Rouf FC spent this fixture wisely. They opened with purpose, dictated the tempo early, and never really let Amfiali settle into a rhythm, securing a clean sheet to go with a two-goal victory and a very satisfying evening's work.

The scoreline suggests a comfortable win, and in truth the pattern of play supports it. Rouf controlled possession, restricted Amfiali's attacking spaces, and managed the game sensibly when the visitors attempted to push numbers forward looking for a way back in.

Key moments

The first goal came during Rouf's strongest spell of the first half, the product of sustained pressure down the flanks and a well-directed finish inside the penalty area. It was a goal that felt deserved given the balance of play, and it forced Amfiali to rethink their approach.

The second goal, arriving after the interval, was the decisive blow. Amfiali had started the second half with more ambition, pushing their full-backs higher and committing extra bodies into midfield. That gamble left room behind, and Rouf punished it with a swift counterattack finished calmly. From there, the match management was excellent: Rouf kept possession, slowed the pace, and gave Amfiali almost nothing to work with.

Tactical story

Rouf FC's structure was the foundation of this win. Their midfield screened the back four effectively, cutting off the passing lanes into Amfiali's forwards and forcing their opponents to circulate the ball sideways rather than penetrating. When Amfiali did find a way through, the centre-backs dealt with the danger efficiently.

Going forward, Rouf were patient and purposeful. Rather than forcing passes, they worked the ball into wide areas and delivered crosses from dangerous positions, which is how the opening goal was manufactured. Amfiali's challenge was balancing their attacking ambition with defensive security, and the second goal showed what happens when that balance tips too far one way.

Standout performers

Rouf's goalscorers take the plaudits for their composure in front of goal, but the engine room of the team deserves equal credit. Their midfielders covered ground relentlessly, winning tackles and launching attacks, while the defence produced an unflustered ninety minutes. The goalkeeper's clean sheet was earned with a handful of steady saves. For Amfiali, the goalkeeper was arguably their best performer, keeping the deficit from growing, while their midfield showed flashes of genuine quality in possession.

What it means for the table

A 2-0 home win with a clean sheet is a valuable addition to Rouf FC's record in the Greek Gamma Ethniki, strengthening their position and building confidence ahead of a demanding run of fixtures. Goals and clean sheets both matter in a division where goal difference and consistency shape the standings. Amfiali leave with a reminder that away points in this league must be earned through defensive discipline as much as attacking ambition.
