The Greek Amateur Cup delivered another absorbing knockout tie on 7 October 2026, with Agia Paraskevi advancing at the expense of Koukaki FC after a 2-1 victory. It was a match that had a bit of everything: an early breakthrough, a determined fightback, and a late winner that decided the contest.

Match Overview

Cup football at amateur level in Greece is played with a level of intensity that rivals professional fixtures, and this meeting between two Athens-based clubs was no exception. Agia Paraskevi started brightly, moving the ball quickly and pressing high up the pitch, while Koukaki FC looked to stay compact and strike on the break.

The 21:00 kick-off brought a lively crowd and a genuine cup atmosphere. With elimination on the line, both teams committed fully to every challenge, and the match developed into an open, end-to-end contest as the evening wore on.

Key Moments

• Agia Paraskevi take the lead: The hosts opened the scoring after a period of sustained pressure, finishing off a well-constructed attacking move to settle the nerves.
• Koukaki FC hit back: The visitors responded with real character, levelling the score and briefly seizing the initiative as Agia Paraskevi's intensity dipped.
• The winning goal: Agia Paraskevi regained control in the closing stages and found the decisive goal, sending them through and breaking Koukaki hearts.
• Final defensive stand: The last minutes required concentration and commitment at the back as Koukaki FC pushed forward in search of a second equaliser.

Tactical Story

Agia Paraskevi's approach was built on quick, direct attacking play, using the flanks to stretch Koukaki FC's defensive shape. Their midfield pressed aggressively to win the ball high, and that pressure produced the platform for their opening goal.

Koukaki FC's reply demonstrated their tactical flexibility. After falling behind, they adjusted their shape, pushed their full-backs higher, and began to find space between the lines. Their equaliser was deserved and gave them a foothold in a match that had briefly threatened to slip away.

In the end, though, Agia Paraskevi's greater attacking threat told. They created the better chances across the ninety minutes, and in cup football, that usually decides the outcome.

Standout Performers

Agia Paraskevi's forward line was the difference on the night, with both goalscorers showing composure in front of goal. Their captain drove the team forward throughout, particularly during the period when Koukaki FC were on top, and the goalkeeper made a crucial intervention late on.

Koukaki FC can take genuine encouragement from their performance. Their equaliser was the product of patient, intelligent build-up play, and several players stood out for their work rate and willingness to keep pushing until the final whistle.

Cup Impact

Progress in the Greek Amateur Cup means more than just another fixture. It brings prize money, visibility and momentum, and for clubs at this level, a cup run can energise an entire season. Agia Paraskevi now move forward with confidence, while Koukaki FC must channel the disappointment of a narrow defeat into their league campaign.

The result also underlines how competitive the amateur cup has become in the Athens region, where dozens of well-drilled, ambitious clubs battle for the chance to go deep in the competition.

Looking Ahead

Agia Paraskevi will await the next round draw with interest, knowing that the further they go, the tougher the opposition becomes. Koukaki FC, meanwhile, will return to league duties with a point to prove — and with the knowledge that they pushed a strong opponent all the way.
