Havelse and Würzburger Kickers played out a pulsating 2-2 draw in the German 3. Liga on October 14, 2026, a result that left both sides with mixed feelings in their respective battles at opposite ends of the table.

Match Overview

From the opening whistle, Havelse looked the more purposeful side, pressing high and forcing Würzburger Kickers into early errors. The home team’s dominance paid off in the 18th minute when Jonas Berger rose highest to meet a corner and powered a header past the goalkeeper. The lead, however, lasted only 16 minutes as Würzburger were awarded a penalty for a handball in the box, and Felix Wagner coolly converted from 12 yards to level the score.

After the break, the visitors grew in confidence and took the lead in the 61st minute through a swift counter-attack. Manuel Stark latched onto a through ball, rounded the goalkeeper, and slotted into an empty net. Havelse pushed forward in search of an equalizer, and their persistence was rewarded in the 89th minute when Luca Winter unleashed a stunning 25-yard strike that flew into the top corner, sending the home crowd into raptures.

Key Moments

• 18' – Jonas Berger heads Havelse in front from a corner.
• 34' – Felix Wagner converts a penalty to equalize for Würzburger Kickers.
• 61' – Manuel Stark finishes a counter-attack to put the visitors ahead.
• 89' – Luca Winter scores a dramatic long-range equalizer for Havelse.

Tactical Analysis

Havelse set up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, aiming to control possession and overload the flanks. Their full-backs pushed high, creating width, but this left them vulnerable to Würzburger’s quick transitions. The visitors, operating in a 4-4-2, sat deep and looked to hit on the break, and their second goal was a perfect example of that strategy. Havelse’s manager made attacking substitutions late on, which ultimately paid off with the equalizer.

Standout Players

Jonas Berger was a constant threat from set-pieces for Havelse, while Luca Winter’s late heroics earned him the plaudits. For Würzburger, Felix Wagner was instrumental in midfield, dictating play and scoring the penalty, while Manuel Stark’s pace caused problems all evening.

League Impact

The draw leaves both teams in mid-table positions, with Havelse showing resilience but still searching for consistency. Würzburger Kickers will feel they dropped two points after leading late, and their promotion ambitions will require better game management. The result adds to the competitive nature of the 3. Liga, where every point matters in the race for promotion and survival.
