VfR Wormatia Worms produced one of the most emphatic results of the German Bundesliga 5 weekend, thrashing Sportfreunde Eisbachtal 7-0 on 17 October 2026. The home side were relentless from the first whistle, scoring early and never allowing their opponents to settle.

Match overview

Wormatia Worms set the tone inside the opening ten minutes and turned the match into a one-sided contest well before half-time. The hosts pressed high, won second balls consistently, and moved the ball quickly through midfield. By the interval they led 3-0, and the only real question was how large the final margin would become.

Sportfreunde Eisbachtal struggled to cope with Wormatia’s width and movement. The visitors defended deep for long periods but were repeatedly pulled out of shape, and once the fourth goal went in early in the second half, the result was beyond doubt.

Key moments

• 8' — Luca Schneider opens the scoring with a composed finish inside the area.
• 19' — Tim Wagner doubles the lead after a quick move down the right.
• 39' — Schneider adds his second from close range.
• 52' — Jonas Becker makes it 4-0 with a powerful strike from outside the box.
• 61' — Wagner scores his second after a defensive error.
• 73' — Schneider completes his hat-trick with a low finish.
• 86' — Marco Keller rounds off the scoring with a late header.

Tactical story

Wormatia’s dominance came from their aggressive pressing and intelligent use of the flanks. Their full-backs pushed high, creating overloads against Eisbachtal’s wide defenders, and the midfield trio controlled the tempo. Every time the visitors tried to clear, Wormatia won the ball back quickly and launched another attack.

The home side also showed patience in possession. Rather than forcing passes into crowded areas, they switched play from side to side and waited for gaps to appear. Once the first two goals went in, Eisbachtal’s defensive line dropped deeper, which only invited more pressure.

Standout performers

Luca Schneider was the headline act with a hat-trick, but Tim Wagner’s brace and Jonas Becker’s control in midfield were just as important. Becker set the tempo and broke up several Eisbachtal counter-attacks, while Keller’s late header capped a complete team performance.

What it means

The three points lift Wormatia Worms and give them a significant boost to their goal difference in the German Bundesliga 5 table. For Sportfreunde Eisbachtal, it was a day to forget, but the heavy defeat also highlights the gap in quality between the sides on this evidence. Wormatia will look to carry the same intensity into their next fixture.
