Tus Dassendorf 1-2 FC Süderelbe: match report

Tus Dassendorf made a bright start on home soil and took the game to FC Süderelbe early on. The hosts moved the ball quickly through midfield and created the first meaningful opening of the match, eventually taking the lead after a sustained spell of pressure. The goal gave Dassendorf confidence, and for a period they looked the more settled side, controlling possession and forcing their opponents to defend deep.

FC Süderelbe, however, grew into the contest. The away side began to press higher up the pitch and won more second balls in the middle third, which allowed them to turn defence into attack more quickly. Their equaliser arrived before half-time and was a reward for that improved intensity. A patient passing move pulled the Dassendorf defence out of position, and the finish was calm enough to send the teams into the break level.

The second half was a tighter, more tactical battle. Tus Dassendorf attempted to reassert control, but FC Süderelbe’s midfield stayed compact and limited the space available in central areas. The decisive moment came when the visitors intercepted a loose pass and broke forward at speed. A well-timed run behind the defence created the chance, and the finish gave the away side a 2-1 lead that they protected with discipline in the closing stages.

Key moments and table impact

The match turned on FC Süderelbe’s ability to adapt after falling behind. Their pressing improved, their passing became more vertical, and they looked increasingly dangerous on the counter-attack. Tus Dassendorf, meanwhile, will look back at spells of possession that lacked a final product, especially after the interval. The hosts pushed for an equaliser late on but found the visitors’ back line difficult to break down.

The away win is a significant result for FC Süderelbe, who showed character to recover from an early setback and manage the game after taking the lead. For Tus Dassendorf, the defeat is a frustrating one, particularly after a promising start. In the context of the German Bundesliga 5 campaign, the three points give Süderelbe valuable momentum, while Dassendorf will be eager to respond in their next fixture.
