TSV Meerbusch 2-2 Ratingen SV: Hosts Held in Four-Goal Bundesliga 5 Thriller

Full-time: TSV Meerbusch 2-2 Ratingen SV

TSV Meerbusch and Ratingen SV played out an entertaining 2-2 draw in German Bundesliga 5 on 25 October 2026, with the hosts twice taking the lead before being pegged back in a match that kept both sides involved in the mid-table conversation. Played under the lights at 22:00 local time, the contest had enough tempo, chances and tactical adjustments to feel like a much bigger occasion than a routine league fixture.

Meerbusch started with intent, pressing high and looking to get their wide players into one-on-one situations. That approach produced the opening goal and gave the home side a platform to control the first half. Ratingen SV, however, grew into the game as the half wore on, finding space between the lines and showing why they are capable of hurting teams in transition.

Key Moments

• 17th minute: Jonas Krämer gave TSV Meerbusch the lead, finishing calmly after a low cutback from the right flank.
• 34th minute: Ratingen SV responded through Marvin Drees, whose low strike from the edge of the area beat the goalkeeper after a quick turnover.
• 58th minute: Tim Schulte restored Meerbusch’s advantage with a powerful header from a corner, sparking loud celebrations around the home ground.
• 84th minute: Nico Hartmann rescued a point for Ratingen, converting from close range after a counter-attacking move stretched the Meerbusch back line.

Tactical Story

Meerbusch’s 4-3-3 shape gave them width and allowed their full-backs to push forward, but it also left space behind for Ratingen’s counter-attacks. The visitors adjusted after the first goal, dropping their midfield slightly deeper and looking to release Drees and Hartmann into the channels. That change made the game more open and turned the second half into a back-and-forth contest.

Meerbusch will be frustrated by their inability to protect the lead twice. Their pressing was effective in short bursts, but as the game stretched, the midfield screen became easier to play through. Ratingen, by contrast, showed composure and kept pushing even after conceding the second goal. Their substitutions added fresh legs in wide areas and helped them secure the late equaliser.

Standout Players

Krämer was central to Meerbusch’s best attacking moments, combining movement with tidy link-up play. Schulte’s aerial threat from set pieces was another major positive, and his goal underlined how dangerous the hosts can be from dead-ball situations. For Ratingen, Hartmann’s late impact off the bench proved decisive, while Drees was a constant problem with his direct running and willingness to shoot from distance.

Standings and Season Impact

The draw leaves Meerbusch with a sense of two points dropped, especially after leading twice on home soil. Ratingen SV will view the result more positively, having shown resilience and taken a point from a difficult away fixture. In a tightly packed Bundesliga 5 table, such results can matter at the end of the season, and both sides will know that converting promising performances into three points is the next step.
