TSG Sprockhovel 0-2 TuS Ennepetal: Ennepetal produced a disciplined away performance in German Bundesliga 5 on 25 October 2026, scoring in each half and keeping a clean sheet to secure all three points.

Sprockhovel had spells of possession but struggled to turn territory into clear chances, while Ennepetal defended compactly and punished two key moments. The win strengthens Ennepetal’s position in the upper half of the Bundesliga 5 standings and leaves Sprockhovel searching for answers after a frustrating home defeat.

Match overview

Sprockhovel started with intent and moved the ball well through midfield, but Ennepetal’s mid-block made it difficult for the hosts to find space between the lines. The visitors took the lead against the run of play in the 23rd minute when Nico Hartmann collected a pass on the edge of the box and curled a low effort beyond the goalkeeper.

The goal changed the tempo. Sprockhovel pushed more players forward after the break, but Ennepetal’s back four held firm and limited them to shots from distance. Ennepetal sealed the result in the 79th minute when Luca Wiegand finished a quick counter-attack, racing clear before sliding the ball into the far corner. Sprockhovel’s late pressure produced a few half-chances, but the visitors managed the closing stages comfortably.

Key moments

• 23' — 0-1: Nico Hartmann curls a low finish into the corner to give Ennepetal the lead.
• 54' — Key save: Ennepetal goalkeeper Marcel Klose denies Sprockhovel’s best chance with a strong low stop.
• 79' — 0-2: Luca Wiegand breaks clear on the counter and finishes calmly to double the advantage.
• 90+2' — Late block: Ennepetal’s defence throws itself in front of a goal-bound effort to preserve the clean sheet.

Tactical story

Ennepetal’s discipline was the foundation of the win. They stayed compact in a 4-4-2, denied central access and forced Sprockhovel wide, where crosses were easier to defend. When they won the ball, they transitioned quickly through Hartmann and Wiegand, targeting the space behind the hosts’ advanced full-backs.

Sprockhovel dominated possession but lacked a cutting edge. Their best moments came from set pieces and second balls, but Ennepetal’s centre-backs dealt with the aerial threat well. The hosts’ decision to commit more bodies forward after the break left them exposed to counters, and Ennepetal took full advantage.

Standout players

Nico Hartmann was Ennepetal’s most influential player, combining technical quality with intelligent movement. Luca Wiegand’s pace and finishing made him a constant outlet, while goalkeeper Marcel Klose produced the key save at 1-0. For Sprockhovel, the midfield captain worked tirelessly, but the front line lacked service.

Season impact

Three points on the road are always valuable in Bundesliga 5, and this win gives Ennepetal momentum as they push toward the top half. Sprockhovel remain in need of a response, with their home form becoming a concern. The table remains tight, but Ennepetal’s clean sheet and clinical edge made the difference on the day.
