Full-time: TSB Flensburg 2-3 VfR Neumunster

VfR Neumunster edged a five-goal thriller against TSB Flensburg in the German Bundesliga 5, winning 3-2 on 25 October 2026. A late decisive goal settled an end-to-end contest that swung repeatedly, with both teams creating enough chances to take more than a point.

Match overview

TSB Flensburg made the brighter start and took the lead in the 12th minute when Morten Petersen finished a flowing move down the right. Neumunster responded with increased pressure and equalised in the 27th minute through Finn Krüger, whose low shot found the corner after a neat lay-off on the edge of the box.

The visitors then took control early in the second half. Krüger added his second in the 54th minute, finishing from close range after a corner was only half-cleared. TSB refused to fold and levelled again in the 71st minute when Petersen grabbed his second of the night, converting a cross from the left. The game looked set for a draw until Neumunster found the winning goal in the 88th minute, breaking through on the counter and finishing with composure.

Tactical story

Neumunster’s victory was built on aggressive pressing in wide areas and quick switches of play. They targeted the space behind TSB’s advanced full-backs and often created overloads on the flanks. TSB, by contrast, looked most dangerous when they won the ball in midfield and attacked directly, with Petersen leading the line effectively.

The decisive difference was Neumunster’s ability to turn transitions into shots. TSB had their moments, particularly after equalising, but they were caught pushing forward for a winner of their own. The late goal was a classic example of a team managing the final minutes better and recognising the moment to break.

Standout performers

Finn Krüger’s two goals made him the match-winner for VfR Neumunster, while the away goalkeeper produced two important saves in the second half. In midfield, Neumunster’s captain kept the team organised during TSB’s best spells.

Morten Petersen was TSB Flensburg’s standout player, scoring twice and constantly troubling the visiting defence. His movement between the centre-backs gave the home side a route back into the game, but his efforts were ultimately unrewarded.

What it means

VfR Neumunster take three valuable points from a difficult away fixture and strengthen their position in the Bundesliga 5 standings. For TSB Flensburg, the result is a frustrating one: they scored twice at home and still lost. The team’s attacking play continues to show promise, but conceding three goals will be a concern. Both sides will take lessons from a match that had the pace, chances and drama of a classic regional encounter.
