KSV Vatan Sport Bremen Come from Behind to Beat TS Woltmershausen 2-1

KSV Vatan Sport Bremen secured a dramatic 2-1 victory over TS Woltmershausen in the German Bundesliga 5 (Bremen-Liga) on October 10, 2026. In a fiery local derby, Vatan Sport overturned a half-time deficit with two second-half goals to claim all three points at the Sportplatz Woltmershausen.

The home side started brightly and took the lead midway through the first half, but Vatan Sport’s persistence paid off after the break. Two well-taken goals in the space of 15 minutes turned the game on its head, and despite late pressure from Woltmershausen, the visitors held on for a valuable win.

Match Overview

TS Woltmershausen began the match with high intensity, pressing their opponents and winning the ball high up the pitch. Their reward came in the 28th minute when a quick exchange of passes released their striker, who fired a low shot into the bottom corner. The home crowd erupted, and Woltmershausen looked in control for the remainder of the first half.

Vatan Sport struggled to find their rhythm before the break, often losing possession in midfield. However, a tactical adjustment at half-time changed the course of the game. The visitors pushed their wingers higher and began to exploit the space behind Woltmershausen’s full-backs.

Tactical Breakdown

Woltmershausen set up in a 4-4-2 and looked to use the flanks to deliver early crosses. Their early goal came from a central overload, but as the game progressed, their midfield dropped deeper, inviting pressure. The decision to sit on their lead ultimately proved costly.

Vatan Sport’s manager switched to a 4-3-3 at half-time, instructing his full-backs to push forward and his wingers to cut inside. The change created numerical superiority in midfield, and Vatan Sport began to dominate possession. Their equalizer came from a well-worked move, and their winner was a testament to their improved intensity.

Standout Players

Vatan Sport’s attacking midfielder was the catalyst for the comeback, scoring the equalizer and providing the assist for the second goal. His energy and creativity were too much for Woltmershausen to handle in the second half. The goalkeeper also deserves credit for a match-winning save in stoppage time.

For TS Woltmershausen, the striker who scored the opening goal was their brightest spark, holding the ball up well and bringing others into play. The center-back made several important tackles, but the team’s failure to kill the game off proved decisive.

League Implications

The win lifts KSV Vatan Sport Bremen up the Bremen-Liga table, keeping them in touch with the promotion-chasing pack. For TS Woltmershausen, it is a missed opportunity to climb further away from the relegation zone, and the manner of the defeat will hurt.

Local derbies often have a big impact on morale, and this result will give Vatan Sport a significant confidence boost. Woltmershausen, meanwhile, must regroup quickly as they face another tough fixture next weekend. With the season still in its early stages, both teams have plenty of time to achieve their goals.
