Full-time: SV Hemelingen 1-0 Blumenthaler SV

SV Hemelingen claimed a narrow 1-0 victory over Blumenthaler SV in the German Bundesliga 5 on 25 October 2026. A single second-half goal from Marcel Kruse settled a tight, hard-fought contest, and Hemelingen’s defensive discipline made that goal stand up until the final whistle.

Match overview

The opening exchanges were cautious, with both sides prioritising defensive shape. Blumenthaler SV had the first meaningful chance in the 21st minute, but a block at the near post kept the score level. Hemelingen grew into the game and began to find space in wide areas, although the first half ended without a goal.

The decisive moment arrived in the 64th minute when Marcel Kruse met a low cross with a first-time finish from inside the box. Blumenthaler pushed for an equaliser and forced several corners in the final 20 minutes, but Hemelingen’s goalkeeper and centre-backs held firm. A late goal-line clearance in stoppage time preserved the clean sheet and the three points.

Key moments

• 21′ – Blumenthaler’s early chance: A shot from the edge of the box was blocked after a quick break.
• 64′ – Hemelingen take the lead: Marcel Kruse finished a low cross with a composed first-time strike.
• 79′ – Crucial save: Hemelingen’s goalkeeper denied a close-range header to keep the lead intact.
• 90+3′ – Last-ditch defending: A goal-line clearance prevented a late equaliser.

Tactical story

Hemelingen’s win was built on compact defending and patience in possession. They denied Blumenthaler space between the lines and forced the visitors into crossing from wider positions. When Hemelingen won the ball, they looked to move it quickly to the flanks and attack the back post.

Blumenthaler had more of the ball in the second half but struggled to create clear chances against a well-organised back four. Their set-piece threat improved late on, but Hemelingen defended those moments with concentration. In a match of fine margins, the home side’s ability to protect their lead was the difference.

Standout performers

Marcel Kruse will take the headlines for the winning goal, but Hemelingen’s goalkeeper was equally important. His save in the 79th minute came at a point when Blumenthaler were building momentum. The centre-back partnership also deserved credit for a clean sheet and for dealing with the late aerial barrage.

For Blumenthaler SV, the central midfielder who kept the team moving forward was a positive. The visitors created enough pressure to suggest they can take points from similar games, but they lacked the final touch in the box.

What it means

The three points lift SV Hemelingen in the Bundesliga 5 standings and give them a valuable home win built on defensive solidity. Clean sheets are often the foundation of strong runs at this level, and Hemelingen will take confidence from the way they closed out the game. Blumenthaler SV leave with nothing but can take encouragement from their second-half response. The result shows how important one moment of quality can be in a tight regional fixture.
