SSVg Velbert produced a dominant attacking display to beat Holzheimer SG 4-1 in German Bundesliga 5 on 25 October 2026. A first-half opener set the tone, and Velbert’s superior width and pressing allowed them to pull clear after the break.

Match Overview

Velbert took the lead in the 18th minute when Emre Yilmaz cut inside from the left and curled a shot into the far corner. Holzheimer responded with a spell of pressure but struggled to create clear chances. Velbert doubled their advantage early in the second half through Luca Schneider, before Yilmaz added his second in the 64th minute.

Tactical Story

Velbert’s 4-3-3 used the full width of the pitch, with both wingers isolating their markers and creating space for late runners. Holzheimer tried to press high, but Velbert’s quick passing through midfield repeatedly broke the first line. The home side’s counter-press was also effective, winning the ball back quickly and preventing Holzheimer from building sustained momentum.

Standout Players

Yilmaz was the standout performer with two goals and constant threat down the left. Schneider controlled the tempo in midfield, while Koch’s late goal capped a strong all-round team performance. For Holzheimer, Braun’s header was a rare bright moment on a difficult afternoon.

Season Impact

The three points strengthen Velbert’s position in the Bundesliga 5 table and underline their attacking potential. Holzheimer, meanwhile, will need to tighten up defensively after conceding four goals. Velbert’s ability to score from multiple areas makes them a dangerous proposition, and this result will serve as a warning to their promotion rivals.
