SSV Reutlingen 05 and Bahlinger played out a hard-fought 1-1 draw in the German Bundesliga 5 on 19 September 2026. The evening fixture, which kicked off at 21:30, saw both teams cancel each other out in a tactical battle that left the points shared.

Match Overview

SSV Reutlingen 05, a club with a proud tradition in German football, welcomed Bahlinger to their home ground hoping to capitalise on home advantage. The visitors, known for their disciplined approach and ability to grind out results, started brightly and looked to press high. Reutlingen gradually grew into the game and took the lead with a well-crafted goal midway through the first half.

Bahlinger responded with intent, pushing more players forward and testing the home defence with a series of crosses and set-pieces. Their persistence paid off before the break when they found an equaliser, ensuring the teams went into half-time level.

Key Moments

• Reutlingen opener: A quick passing move opened up the Bahlinger defence, and the finish was clinical.
• Bahlinger equaliser: A looping header from a corner brought the visitors level, punishing a momentary lapse in concentration.
• Second-half saves: Both goalkeepers made important stops, with Bahlinger’s No. 1 denying a one-on-one chance late on.
• Late pressure: Reutlingen pushed for a winner in the final ten minutes, but Bahlinger’s defence held firm.

Tactical Story

Reutlingen set up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, looking to control the midfield and feed their wide attackers. Bahlinger, by contrast, used a compact 4-4-2 and focused on winning second balls and launching quick counter-attacks. The game was largely decided in midfield, where neither side could establish complete dominance.

The draw was a fair result. Reutlingen had more possession, but Bahlinger created the clearer chances on the break. In the fifth tier of German football, where physicality and organisation are paramount, both teams showed why they are difficult to beat.

Standout Players

Reutlingen’s central midfielder was excellent, dictating the tempo and breaking up opposition attacks. Their left-back also impressed with overlapping runs and accurate deliveries. For Bahlinger, the goalkeeper was the standout performer, making a string of saves and commanding his area well. The centre-back pairing dealt with Reutlingen’s late aerial barrage effectively.

Table and Season Impact

The point keeps both clubs in the competitive pack of the German Bundesliga 5. Reutlingen will feel they dropped two points at home, while Bahlinger will view it as a solid away result. With the season progressing, consistency will be key for both sides if they are to challenge for promotion or secure a comfortable mid-table finish.

For supporters following the German Bundesliga 5 standings and results, this 1-1 draw highlights the fine margins that define the division. The return fixture promises to be another closely contested affair.
