SpVgg Weiden and TSV Nördlingen shared the points after a 1-1 draw in the German Bundesliga 5 on 17 October 2026. It was a tightly contested match in which both sides had spells on top, but neither could find a winning goal in the final stages.

Match overview

The first half was a cagey affair, with both teams cautious in possession and unwilling to leave too much space behind their midfield lines. SpVgg Weiden gradually gained control and were rewarded in the 34th minute when Maximilian Huber finished a patient attacking move. The hosts went into the break with a narrow lead and looked the more likely side to add to the score.

TSV Nördlingen responded after half-time, pushing their wingers higher and pressing more aggressively in midfield. The equaliser arrived on 71 minutes through Daniel Fischer, who reacted quickest after a corner was only partially cleared. Both sides pushed for a winner late on, but the defences held firm.

Key moments

• 34' — Maximilian Huber gives SpVgg Weiden the lead with a composed finish.
• 49' — Nördlingen threaten for the first time in the second half as their pressing forces a corner.
• 71' — Daniel Fischer equalises for the visitors after a scramble in the box.
• 88' — Weiden go close from a free-kick, but the Nördlingen goalkeeper saves well.

Tactical story

Weiden’s plan was built on controlling the ball and drawing Nördlingen out of their defensive shape. Huber’s movement between the lines caused problems, and the home side created several half-chances before taking the lead. However, they struggled to sustain that control after the break as Nördlingen increased their intensity.

Nördlingen’s equaliser came from exactly the kind of set-piece pressure they had been building. Their midfielders pushed higher in the second half, forcing Weiden into longer clearances and creating repeated opportunities from wide areas. In the end, a draw felt like a fair reflection of a match with few clear-cut chances.

Standout performers

Huber was lively throughout for SpVgg Weiden and took his goal well. Fischer’s equaliser was the decisive contribution for Nördlingen, while their goalkeeper made an important late save to preserve the point. Both midfields worked hard, but neither side found the final pass to unlock the game in the closing minutes.

What it means

The draw keeps both teams in the middle pack of the German Bundesliga 5 table. Weiden will be frustrated to have let a lead slip at home, while Nördlingen will take confidence from a solid away performance. With the season still taking shape, both sides will see this as a point gained rather than two dropped.
