SV Sonsbeck put on a show for their home supporters, scoring four goals in a vibrant performance against a Solingen-Wald side that never stopped fighting but was ultimately undone by defensive lapses. The hosts raced into a two-goal lead inside the first 20 minutes and, despite Solingen-Wald pulling one back before half-time, Sonsbeck restored their two-goal cushion early in the second half. A late consolation from the visitors set up a tense finale, but Sonsbeck sealed the points with a fourth goal in stoppage time.

Tactical Story

Sonsbeck lined up with an attacking 4-3-3, pressing high and looking to get the ball into wide areas quickly. Their intensity overwhelmed Solingen-Wald in the early stages, and the visitors' back four struggled to deal with the movement of the front three. Solingen-Wald improved after the break, switching to a more direct approach and utilising set-pieces to good effect, but their defence was always vulnerable to Sonsbeck's counter-attacks. The hosts finished with 57% possession and 14 shots on target, a testament to their offensive efficiency.

Standout Players

Kevin Weber (SV Sonsbeck) was unplayable at times, scoring two goals and providing an assist with a dynamic display. Philipp Jansen controlled the midfield with his passing range, while Michael Braun was a constant threat down the right flank. For Solingen-Wald, Stefan Kroll scored a fine header and worked tirelessly, but the defensive unit will be disappointed with the errors that gifted Sonsbeck their goals.

Season Impact

This victory strengthens SV Sonsbeck's position in the upper half of the Bundesliga 5 table and boosts their goal difference. Solingen-Wald remain in a precarious position and must tighten up defensively if they are to climb away from trouble. Sonsbeck will look to build on this convincing home win as they push for a higher finish.
