Reinickendorfer Fuchse edged Tennis Borussia Berlin 1-0 in a tense German Bundesliga 5 meeting on 24 October 2026, taking all three points from a Berlin derby that was decided by a single goal. The home side’s compact shape and patience in possession paid off, while Tennis Borussia Berlin were left to rue a handful of wasteful moments in the final third.

The result adds extra weight to the local rivalry and gives Reinickendorfer Fuchse a valuable lift in the league table. For Tennis Borussia, the performance offered signs of resilience but not the cutting edge needed to turn a tight away fixture into points.

Match overview

The opening exchanges were cagey, with both teams wary of leaving space behind their midfield lines. Reinickendorfer Fuchse saw more of the ball but had to be patient against a Tennis Borussia side that defended in a compact block and looked to spring forward on the counter. Clear chances were scarce before the break, and the home goalkeeper was called into action once to keep the scores level.

After the interval, the home side raised the tempo and began to pin Tennis Borussia deeper. The breakthrough came from a controlled attacking move rather than a moment of chaos, and once Reinickendorfer Fuchse had the lead, they managed the game with maturity. Tennis Borussia pushed more players forward late on, but the home defence held firm through a tense final spell.

Key moments

• An early save from the Reinickendorfer goalkeeper kept the match goalless during a bright Tennis Borussia counter.
• The decisive goal arrived after a sustained spell of home pressure, with a low delivery from the right converted from close range.
• Tennis Borussia responded with a series of corners and long throws, forcing the home back line to defend deep.
• A late stop from the home goalkeeper preserved the clean sheet and sealed the three points.

Tactical story

Reinickendorfer Fuchse’s midfield balance was the foundation of the win. The holding players screened the back four well, allowing the full-backs to advance without leaving the centre-backs exposed. Tennis Borussia tried to break quickly through the channels, but too often the final pass was delayed or intercepted.

The away side’s best moments came when they pressed higher after conceding, yet that approach also opened space for Reinickendorfer Fuchse to counter. In a match of fine margins, the home team’s discipline without the ball proved just as important as the goal itself.

Standout performers

The Reinickendorfer goalkeeper was central to the result, combining a crucial first-half save with a composed late intervention. The centre-back partnership also deserves credit for limiting Tennis Borussia’s clear sights of goal, while the midfield engine room set the tone with aggressive second-ball recoveries. For Tennis Borussia, the goalkeeper kept the away side within reach and made several important stops before the decisive goal.

Season impact

Three points from a derby can be worth more than the table suggests, and Reinickendorfer Fuchse will hope this win becomes a platform for consistency in the German Bundesliga 5 campaign. Tennis Borussia Berlin remain with work to do in the final third, but the narrow margin suggests they are not far from turning competitive displays into points.
