• Final score: Eintracht Norderstedt B 2-1 SSG Nikola Tesla
• Competition: German Bundesliga 5
• Date: 24 October 2026
• Decisive phase: Second-half pressure and a set-piece winner

Key Moments

The opening goal arrived after Norderstedt B recycled possession following a partially cleared corner. A curling ball into the box was met by a forward who guided it beyond the goalkeeper. Nikola Tesla’s equaliser came from a more direct route, with a midfielder winning the ball in the centre of the pitch before releasing a striker whose finish was low and precise.

The second half was more open. Norderstedt B restored their lead in the 67th minute when a deep free-kick was headed back across goal and turned in from close range. Nikola Tesla pushed for another equaliser and forced two strong saves from the Norderstedt goalkeeper, but the home defence held firm through five minutes of stoppage time.

Tactical Story

Norderstedt B lined up in a 4-2-3-1 and used their attacking midfielder to drift between the lines, creating numerical advantages in central areas. Their full-backs pushed high to stretch Nikola Tesla’s back four, and the home side’s willingness to press immediately after losing possession kept the visitors from building rhythm.

SSG Nikola Tesla favoured a 4-4-2 and looked most dangerous when playing direct into their forwards and competing for second balls. That approach produced the equaliser, but it also left space behind the midfield for Norderstedt B to exploit in transition during the second half.

Standout Performers

Norderstedt B’s No. 10 was at the heart of most of their best attacking play, linking midfield and attack with sharp passing and intelligent movement. The home side’s centre-back pairing also impressed, winning key aerial duels and defending the penalty area well as Nikola Tesla chased the game late on.

For SSG Nikola Tesla, the goalkeeper kept his side in the contest with a string of saves, while the striker who scored the equaliser was a constant outlet on the counter. In the end, though, Norderstedt B’s greater urgency in the final third made the difference.

By the Numbers

Season Impact

The 2-1 win adds three valuable points to Norderstedt B’s tally and gives the side momentum in a competitive German Bundesliga 5 campaign. The performance underlined the value of their high press and set-piece work, both of which produced decisive moments.

SSG Nikola Tesla will take encouragement from their response after conceding first, but the result leaves them with work to do in the coming weeks. Converting late chances and tightening up at defensive set pieces will be central to their push for better results.
