Full-time: Einheit Rudolstadt 0-3 VfB Empor Glauchau

VfB Empor Glauchau produced a controlled and clinical away performance in the German Bundesliga 5 on 25 October 2026, defeating Einheit Rudolstadt 3-0. The visitors scored at key moments, defended their penalty area with discipline and added a late third goal to turn a solid result into a convincing one.

Match overview

Rudolstadt started with intent and enjoyed plenty of the ball in the opening exchanges, but Empor Glauchau were happy to sit in a compact mid-block and attack through quick transitions. The game’s first decisive moment arrived in the 23rd minute, when Lukas Hartmann found space between the home centre-backs and finished calmly past the goalkeeper.

The hosts responded well before half-time and created their best chance shortly before the interval, but a combination of last-ditch defending and a strong save kept Empor ahead. After the restart, Rudolstadt pushed more players forward, and that openness allowed Glauchau to double their lead in the 58th minute. A late third goal in the 84th minute ended any realistic hope of a comeback.

Key moments

• 23′ – Empor take the lead: Lukas Hartmann timed his run perfectly and slotted the opening goal after a fast break through midfield.
• 38′ – Rudolstadt’s best chance: A deep cross found a home attacker at the back post, but Empor’s goalkeeper reacted well to keep the score at 1-0.
• 58′ – The second goal: Glauchau won the ball high and moved it wide before a low cross was converted from close range.
• 84′ – The seal: Hartmann added his second of the evening, finishing a counter-attack after Rudolstadt had committed bodies forward.

Tactical story

Empor Glauchau’s game plan was built on defensive discipline and efficient use of possession. They allowed Rudolstadt to circulate the ball in less dangerous areas, then looked to spring forward through the channels. The away side’s midfield stayed close to the back four, which limited second balls and forced the hosts into speculative crosses.

Rudolstadt had spells of pressure, especially at the start of the second half, but their final pass was often rushed. Empor’s ability to defend the box and then counter with numbers proved decisive. Once the visitors went 2-0 up, the match became a test of game management, and Glauchau passed it comfortably.

Standout performers

Lukas Hartmann was the obvious difference-maker with two goals, but Empor’s goalkeeper deserved credit for the clean sheet. His save before half-time protected the lead at a delicate moment. In defence, the centre-back pairing dealt well with Rudolstadt’s aerial threat, while the midfield captain set the tempo with simple, intelligent passing.

For Rudolstadt, the central midfielder who kept probing was one of the few bright spots. The home side worked hard and created enough possession to build from, but they lacked the cutting edge that Empor showed in the final third.

What it means

The three points and clean sheet give VfB Empor Glauchau a strong platform in the Bundesliga 5 standings. Away wins of this nature are valuable because they combine result, defensive solidity and confidence. Rudolstadt, meanwhile, will need to turn territory into clear chances in their next fixture. The scoreline was harsh in terms of possession, but it was a fair reflection of the visitors’ finishing and discipline.
