DJK TuS Hordel 1-4 SpVgg Vreden 1921: Vreden Run Riot in Bundesliga 5

SpVgg Vreden 1921 produced a dominant away performance to thrash DJK TuS Hordel 4-1 in the German Bundesliga 5 on Sunday, October 4, 2026. The visitors scored three goals in a devastating 20-minute spell either side of half-time to take complete control of the match at the Sportplatz Hordel.

Hordel actually started well and took a shock lead in the 14th minute through a header from striker Thomas Berger. But Vreden responded emphatically, equalising in the 33rd minute before adding two more before the break.

Key Moments

• 14' – Thomas Berger heads Hordel into a surprise lead.
• 33' – Vreden equalise through a clinical finish from Luca Winter.
• 41' – A penalty converted by captain Jan Peters puts Vreden ahead.
• 45+2' – Vreden score a third on the counter, finished by Marco Klein.
• 72' – Winter scores his second to complete the rout.

The second half was largely a damage-limitation exercise for Hordel, who struggled to contain Vreden's pace and movement. The visitors could have scored more, hitting the woodwork twice, but they settled for a comprehensive 4-1 win.

Tactical Story

Hordel lined up in a 4-4-2 but were overrun in midfield. Vreden's 4-3-3 pressed high and forced turnovers in dangerous areas, leading to several goals. The away side's wingers, particularly Winter and Klein, caused havoc with their direct running.

After taking the lead, Hordel sat back, inviting pressure. Vreden's equaliser came from a swift counter, and the penalty just before half-time knocked the stuffing out of the hosts. The third goal on the stroke of half-time was a killer blow.

Standout Players

Luca Winter was the star of the show with two goals and an assist. Jan Peters controlled the midfield and converted his penalty, while Marco Klein was a constant threat. For Hordel, Thomas Berger took his goal well but received little support.

Season Impact

Vreden move up to third in the Bundesliga 5 table, signalling their promotion intentions. Hordel remain rooted in the bottom half and face a relegation battle if results do not improve. The defeat leaves them with the worst defensive record in the division. They will need a quick response in their next fixture.
