CSC 03 Kassel and Hummetroth played out a 1-1 draw in German Bundesliga 5 on 25 October 2026, with both goals arriving after the break in a cagey contest that was decided by fine margins.

Kassel looked the more composed side for long spells and took the lead through a well-executed set piece, but Hummetroth responded with a determined second-half display and earned a share of the points. The result keeps both teams in the mid-table conversation and leaves the Bundesliga 5 standings as tight as ever.

Match overview

The first half was a tactical battle, with Kassel controlling possession but struggling to break down a disciplined Hummetroth defence. Chances were limited, and both goalkeepers were largely untroubled before the interval. Kassel’s best moment came from a corner, but the header was cleared off the line.

Kassel broke the deadlock in the 52nd minute when Jan Reuter met a deep free-kick and guided a header into the bottom corner. Hummetroth responded by pushing more bodies forward and began to find space in the channels. The equaliser arrived on 77 minutes when Tobias Klein converted from close range after a scramble in the box. Both sides had late half-chances, but neither could find a winner.

Key moments

• 52' — 1-0: Jan Reuter heads home a deep free-kick to give Kassel the lead.
• 65' — Key save: Hummetroth’s goalkeeper makes a strong stop to deny Kassel a second.
• 77' — 1-1: Tobias Klein reacts quickest in the box and finishes from close range.
• 90' — Late chance: Kassel sends a header wide from a corner as the game ends level.

Tactical story

Kassel’s game plan was built on control. They circulated the ball patiently and looked to create overloads on the flanks, but Hummetroth’s compact defensive block made it difficult to find clear openings. The set-piece goal was a reward for their persistence and highlighted their aerial strength.

Hummetroth grew into the game after conceding. Their midfield pressed higher and their wide players began to stretch Kassel’s back line. The equaliser came from a more direct approach, with Hummetroth winning second balls and creating chaos in the box. Both defences held firm in the final stages, and a draw was perhaps the fair outcome.

Standout players

Jan Reuter was Kassel’s standout performer, combining defensive solidity with a goal threat from set pieces. Tobias Klein’s movement and finishing kept Hummetroth in the game, while both goalkeepers made important saves in the second half.

Season impact

The draw keeps Kassel and Hummetroth level on points in the Bundesliga 5 table and underlines how competitive the middle of the division is. Kassel will rue not building on their lead, while Hummetroth will take confidence from their response. Both sides remain within reach of the top half with plenty of matches to come.
