Budissa Bautzen Secure Controlled 2-0 Win Over SSC Weissenfels

Budissa Bautzen claimed a composed 2-0 victory over SSC Weissenfels in the German Bundesliga 5 on 11 October 2026. Two well-timed goals and a disciplined defensive performance gave the hosts all three points at their home ground.

The win moves Budissa Bautzen upward in the standings and extends their strong home form, while SSC Weissenfels are left to rue a lack of cutting edge in the final third.

Match Overview

Budissa Bautzen began the match with patience, allowing SSC Weissenfels to hold possession in harmless areas while looking to strike on the counter. The hosts took the lead late in the first half with a well-worked goal, then doubled their advantage in the second half after a period of sustained pressure.

SSC Weissenfels saw more of the ball after the break, but they struggled to break down a compact Bautzen defence. The visitors managed several shots from distance, yet clear-cut chances were rare, and Budissa Bautzen comfortably saw out the 2-0 win.

Key Moments

• 21st minute: SSC Weissenfels tested the Bautzen goalkeeper with a dipping effort from outside the box.
• 38th minute: Budissa Bautzen opened the scoring with a low finish after a quick move down the left.
• 52nd minute: The visitors pushed forward and forced a corner, but the Bautzen defence cleared the danger.
• 74th minute: Budissa Bautzen doubled their lead, finishing calmly after a flowing attacking sequence.
• 88th minute: SSC Weissenfels’ best chance of the match was blocked on the goal line as Bautzen kept their clean sheet intact.

Tactical Story

Budissa Bautzen set up in a disciplined 4-2-3-1 shape, with the two holding midfielders shielding the back four and the wide players dropping deep to limit SSC Weissenfels’ overlapping runs. That structure forced the visitors to play in front of Bautzen’s defence rather than through it.

In attack, Bautzen were efficient rather than expansive. They targeted the space behind Weissenfels’ full-backs and created their best chances through quick transitions. SSC Weissenfels enjoyed more possession, but their build-up was too slow, allowing Bautzen to regroup and defend in numbers.

Standout Players

Budissa Bautzen’s goalscorer Martin Nowak was a constant threat with his movement in the penalty area. Captain Robert Seidel controlled the game from central midfield, while centre-back Kevin Hempel produced a commanding defensive display.

For SSC Weissenfels, goalkeeper Lukas Berger made several important saves to keep the score respectable. Midfielder Felix Hartmann worked tirelessly and tried to create openings, but he lacked support in the final third.

Season Impact

The three points and clean sheet give Budissa Bautzen a solid platform in the German Bundesliga 5 table. Their home form is becoming a key weapon, and another victory will strengthen their hopes of climbing further. SSC Weissenfels, meanwhile, must address their away performances after another match in which they failed to convert possession into goals.

Budissa Bautzen will look to maintain their defensive discipline in the coming weeks, while SSC Weissenfels need to find a more direct attacking spark to turn dominant spells into points.
